    Pinion angle

Remember, when you hit the gas the rear end (yoke) will rotate up (changing the pinion angle). The type of rear suspension (loose or tight) will determine how much the pinion needs to be pointed down relative the engine/trans angle.......Here's another explanation:

    Pinion angle

Well you're close............??? Normally the angles (engine and yoke) are set so that when there is a load on the drive train (during acceleration) the tranny and yoke are at the same angle. So if you set your pinion angle with the car sitting still (static) you need to have the yoke about 2...

    Pinion angle

The angle of the driveshaft (4 X 4s) doesn't hardly matter at all. What matters is the angle of the engine crankshaft/trans relative to the rear end pinion angle.....WATCH:

    I need some HELP

I thought that there was only "ONE" RRR???????
  6. Treblig

8 3/4 Price? Sure Grip Unit Price?

RRR is correct (for once... LOL). I would have paid any amount for one down here in S. Texas, there are almost none at all. Most are far, far away (shipping costs).

Small block / power glide flex plate

There are a few companies that make flex plate adapters for many mismatched combinations of engine and transmission....TCI is one of them, Wilcap is another.

Some ideas and questions about the FORD 8.8 axle:

Yes, C channel will also work if it's thick enough!!

Some ideas and questions about the FORD 8.8 axle:

If you grind/clean the outside of the axle tube nice and smooth, then cut out the excess out (as straight a cut as possible), then lay the tubes in a piece of angle iron (large piece, like 4" X 4" angle iron)....the angle iron will keep everything dead straight if you clamp the pieces into the...

Is there a point you just replace the axles?

I would have thought that you would swap axles from side to side until the line gets straight again???

    REALLY? BROKEN FLYWHEEL?

    REALLY? BROKEN FLYWHEEL?

Maybe they have a guilty conscious about the flex plate?? $1104.00 seems kind of high for R & R plus a flywheel??? I'd call around to a few other trans shops and ask what they charge for R & R just for comparison. If someone else can do it cheaper pick up your new trans and take it somewhere...

    REALLY? BROKEN FLYWHEEL?

I asked for him to cut you a break on the price because if they had inspected the flex plate correctly they could have identified the problem in advance???

    REALLY? BROKEN FLYWHEEL?

You might get lucky.........if the bolts backed out and the flywheel is intact then the monkey is on the back of the person that installed the bolts, new TC bolts usually have locktite on them from the factory, at least that's the way the ones that I've bought were. You have a 50/50 chance of...

    REALLY? BROKEN FLYWHEEL?

I would have thought that the people that replaced the transmission should have inspected the flywheel/flex plate. They , better than anyone, know what would happen if they install a good trans on a bad flex plate. They should have also properly installed the TC bolts. Those people like to...

    727 cooler temperature

It takes a while for the trans fluid to come up to running temperature.....like 15-25 min at 90 degrees outside temp (depending on outside temps and how fast you're driving). If the ambient temp is below 60/70 it takes even longer. I have a trans temp gage on my transmission so I know how long...

    Driveshaft removal

Or you can just raise the *** end and you'll only get a dribble. The higher the less dribble!! It doesn't get much to get the fluid to shift towards the front of the trans like a driveway on a downhill angle. Treblig OH!!! I forgot, if you do it on a downhill driveway be to sure to...

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

I used the mopar newer (90s) 5.2 starter (the small one), gives you clearance for the exhaust. I had to do a little extra trimming to get the starter nose to clear. It's all in my long post/thread when I built built and installed the 2004R. Treblig

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

I had the convertor builder add 3/8" to the three convertor mounting pads because the wilcap set up makes you have to pull the convertor too much towards the engine which doesn't give you as much pump engagement. With the extra 3/8" on the pads you get full engagement of the pump splines. Treblig

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

I think I spent a total of $2000.00 on everything but I installed it myself. I cut the adapter plate myself. You're lucky that you found MC SS trans. The MC SS governor is the real find, I had to modify my governor and also replace the plastic speedo gear in the trans to get the dash speedo to...

    9 inch ford

If you managed to get the ford driveshaft with the rear end then all you have to do is take the ford driveshaft and the mopar driveshaft to the driveshaft man and tell him to make a new shaft with the mopar front end and the Ford back end. That's what I did. If you don't have the ford...

    Trans cooler with AC condenser

After I installed the non-lock up 2004R (1800 stall) in my Barracuda I installed a cooler in front of the radiator. I also installed a trans temp gauge. It ran below 200 degrees all the time, I live in S. Texas so it's always very hot and humid: Treblig

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

Yea, that was pretty tricky trying to keep the torque rod (down rod) vertical in both directions so I could remove the trans bracket that normally holds the bottom of the torque rod in place. In the end it worked out perfect with no binding and great shifting!! I filed and extra notch into the...

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

The passenger side was more of a hassle than the driver's side when it came to trimming. I think I cut a nub that sticks out on the passenger's side of the trans and also had to trim the cross member a couple of times. Seems like the higher I got the trans to go the more I had to trim off the...

Did you reinforce the cross member on the top side?? There was a factory gap on my car that let me tap (small hammer) some 1/8" plate between the body and the cross member which compensates for all the cutting. Treblig

I kept my original console and complete shifter in my '69 Barracuda when I installed the 2004R. I documented everything in detail here on FABO. I even did a little work to the shifter detents so that I could put it in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear easily. Treblig
