    Jeep Cherokee 8 1/4 to an A body ?

Yeah the brakes swap, my Dad's 98 Ranger has an 8.8 and uses 97 explorer discs, he had to change the E brake cables but they have to be changed anyways on an A body.

Highest stall speed for a street car

Most of my stuff is stick shift but I've known people that have/had 8" converters in street cars, my friend Jeff's Demon had a 8" that flashed 6,200 but he had a W5 340 & 5.13's, he would shift at 8,600-8,800, it was a street car too he didn't own a trailer or a truck for that matter. He did...

Wonder why he cant sell this duster?

He doesn't have to call it a chevy, he could call it a '98 Mopar pro stock block and be correct too.

    8.8 swap

If you're running a 727 or 833 a late 60's Imperial or 440 C body driveshaft will work, it just needs cut down- they used 1330 U joints. I used one from a 68 Imperial in my 68 Dart to mate a 833 to a 8.8, after getting 6-8" taken out it went right in.

    ultimate street 318

A stock stroke 318 with W2's would be cool, One of my friends did one for his valiant and runs 6.90's@100 in the 1/8 with it, it's pretty basic with a 312/.590 MP solid, victor W2 manifold & TQ. He had the same top end on a 408 and was running 6.40's@108 but wasn't very consistant since our...

    Jeep Cherokee 8 1/4 to an A body ?

Yeah the explorer 8.8 is offset, another option is a Ranger 8.8, the diff is centered and is the same width as an A body rear but they have 28 spline axles and trac loks are not as common. I wanted an 8.25 for my Dart but after 2 years I ended up going with the explorer disc brake rear, I...

    Dakota question

That 99 318 4x4 is sweet - thats what I originally went to buy in '99 and drove out in a Flame Red R/T club cab, kinda wish I got the 4x4 since I'd probably still have it.

auto to manual swap how hard? how many hours

The guy that bought my 73 Duster had it swapped to a 4 speed, he bought the kit from brewers and had a resto shop do the work as it's way over his head, it ran about 8k to complete the swap but he also swapped a factory 4 speed column, new carpet, etc, it took the shop about 2 weeks to complete...

    Post or Non-Post Cars?

It wouldn't matter if they added power steering, he's fighting it because it has 40" of rubber on the ground and most likely a spool- if you want real fun try pushing it around the shop without throwing sand on the floor first.

    1350 U-Joints overkill?

7290's will probably be fine depending on how much track time it gets, one of my friends with a 340 swinger had to upgrade to 1350's when he swapped to a 408 and the 60's got into the 1.3's, the 7290's lived for years when it had a 340 and was cutting 1.47-48's. His car only gets track time and...

Need some buying advice. 71 Scamp

The Scamp belongs to a good friend of mine, it should be good to go as is since he's pretty anal about his cars but I think he has an itch for another fast late model, he had a pretty quick LS1 camaro he sold to buy and build the scamp. It runs really good as is but needs a cam or gear swap to...

factory aluminum trunk lid... check this out

The 76 Feather I had used a steel trans X member and had a 3.21 8.25, it did have an aluminum 1 barrel intake and aluminum case 833od, the fenders weighed the same as standard Duster fenders. I drove it daily for a few months before swapping in a 360/833 and got 24-25mpg with the /6. I parted...

    Using a 66 A-100 8 3/4 in a Early A body

The rear is usable it just needs narrowed a bit, it can go to stock A body width or 2" narrower than stock depending on which axles it has, some have 3" of taper and some have 4" of taper. If you're on a budget its a great piece to start with, if you're swapping in everything new then it's...

/6 swap for 318 now it won't even turn the starter? nuetral safty switcch?

Try grounding the NSS terminal on the starter relay, if it starts there is a problem in the NSS harness or switch, if it doesn't start check the column harness and connector and also the bulkhead connector.

Who's going to Mopars with Big Daddy?

I'll be there in the swap meet on Sat&Sun, gone every year since 94-95, I've thought about bringing a car a few times but my stuff is usually cosmetically challenged.

    Cruise control ever available?

Optional, I had a 74 Duster 318 with cruise and one of my friends had a 74 Scamp 318 with cruise also- neither one worked but they came with it factory.

    FL Engine Builder Needed!

I know of 3 places in the Tampa area that can do a good job on a small block mopar, depends on how fast you need it and how much you want to spend. If you want to send it out of the area I know a few people that have had good luck with hensleys in NC.

Just Blew 2 Head Gaskets at Once. First Run

If you run steel gaskets dry they will leak, they need something, spray hylomar seems to work best for me but coppercoat or even a heavy coat of silver spraypaint just before install will work too. Did it milkshake the oil or just leak into the cyls?, if the oil looks ok I would switch to the...

    cam for 318?

I would hold off and swap when you can get a 4 barrel carb and dual plane, it may run with the 2 barrel on it but won't run well. I actually run the same cam in a 318 Dart right now, it has a little chop to the idle and 12-13" of vac, it has headers, 2 1/2" duals, 600 carb, performer intake...

    Anyone use Summit Headers?

I've installed the summit headers in 2 A bodys, 1 set fit great the other needed lots of bashing. The set that fit great went into a 73 318 car with spool mounts & P/S, cleared everything great, installed another set in a 72 340 car with biscuit mounts & P/S and 1 tube needed beat 1/2 shut to...

alternatives to an 8.75- what about an explorer 8.8?

Yeah I'll have to dig them up later since they are on my other comp, I also had to relocate the rear brakeline to the framerail forward of the axle instead of over it, on the rear I used the stock ford steel line and hoses.

alternatives to an 8.75- what about an explorer 8.8?

I have an explorer 8.8 under my 68 Dart, I did the swap about a year ago and it seems to be fine so far, the one I used came from a 97 w/80k and has 4.10's and a trac lok. I did it as cheap as possible just to see if it would work, I had the dr side cut down and used a short pass side axle on...

    A factory Slant 6 with a 8 1/4 differential

I had a /6 car with a 8.25 also- in a feather duster of all things. It was a 225-1, 3.09 1st 833od, 2.76sg 8.25 car with discs, front sway bar, white bucket int with console,AM/FM, P/S, P/B, A/C and rally wheels, it also had rocker trim, wheel lip mouldings, driprail trim and a trunk light...

Your opinon on 72 Plymouth VALIANT $2000.00

The price seems steep to me but if you don't mind a 4 dr go for it- I had a 67 signet 4 dr I ran for a while, I paid $110 and drove it home but he kept the battery lol. It was a 225 ,3 speed, 7.25 ,9" drum car, I swapped a 360/727/8.75 and 10.87 discs in it and ran it for 2 years before the...

    Installed the BFG drag radials!

They're not as good as M/T's but not far off either, there were guys running 7's on BFG's before M/T started making a drag radial.

    I was taken...stupid me..

The carb should work ok, a throttle lever adaptor for a mopar will bolt right on since most aftermarket carbs have GM linkage anyways. One of my friends ran the 650 spreadbore on his 360 valiant for years and it worked fine, he was in the mid to low 12's with it, It will just need tuned to...

    Unsolicited advice

They are long to fit different A bodys, a Dart/valiant has more rear overhang than a Duster/demon/cuda, thats why they use different tips too.

Exhaust swap from 4 door to 2 door...

Its a direct swap hangers and all both are 111" w.b cars, theres no difference in wheelbase between 2&4 doors if they are the same model except a Scamp which is a Dart with a Valiant nose. 67-76 Darts and 70+ Scamps are 111" -- Valiants, A-cudas, duster/demons are 108"
