    It doesn't snow here at all, but rust does happen, and overnight too on bare steel....it is really humid here in the summer....when it's raining, it can hit 100% humidity, and when it's not raining, it can still be like 80% and 100*F.

    I spent 2 days removing old paint, welding spatter and sharp edges from the K frame, and then painted it in 2 pack gloss black. I also did the rear brake drums too, removing the rough feel from the casting.

    We used to have a homegrown tool company here called Sidchrome.....was oned by a company called Siddon's Tool & Lock Company. They got bought out by Proto, then they got bought out by Stanley....so I'm lead to believe. You can still buy Sidchrome tools, but I think they are made in China these...

    I have an SIP brand compressor...15cfm, 3.2hp, 240V, 15amp, and next year it will be 20 years old.....never replaced the belts, just change the oil every now and then. I did fit it with a car type air cleaner assembly....better than the foam one it had.

    Sharp'inun twist drills

    I've never had any problem sharpening drill bits by hand....I can sharpen them to what ever the task is....steel, brass, alloy, cast iron, polyurethane, plastic, wood...etc. I have even made a 3/4" drill bit into a spot weld driller for doing steel wheel rim mods. Just takes practice.

    Question about cleaning coolant out of oil passages!

    I just use cheap oil for doing that.....need to run it at a fast idle speed for 30 mins (@ operating temp) or so, then drop the oil and filter. You need heat to help get rid of the water.

    I use Motorcraft oil filters.....they have bigger holes than most, so they have good flow.

    People are losing their jobs here hand over fist......just yesterday, 472 people lost their jobs at a Coalmine Contractors. If things don't pick up at my work, we could be lookin at losing some blokes too. Congrats on ya job.

    Nice lookin gat that one......all I can afford is my 1918 Lee Enfield .303, all original wood, matching numbers.....worth nearly as much as a new rifle these days....got for 90 bucks a bit over 20 years ago.

    I got my lathe about 7 years ago, new. It's a HAFCO Metalmaster AL300. I completely stipped it down when I got it, and replaced all the chinaman bearings for Timkens and F.A.G.'s. I found broken drill bits in the saddle box, and casting sand, wood chips, and machining swarf......all cleaned out...
