Nope. What you contribute is just as valid as anyone else. I spent 32 years in the lube business. Trust the synthetic silicone.

The ones I have here are factory ones that were bought 30 plus years ago. They have a white grease in them already. And snap right on

    6.1 Hemi Internals.

I did a 5.7 awhile back. Put ARP bolts in the bottom end. Did not change crank or rod run out. But, as Garret pointed out, if you plan to power add or boost, put a drop in/no balance required piston/rod set now while it's apart. On the head bolts, they are indeed torque to angle. But my...

How old are you and how long have you raced

In SoCal in the 1970's the issues were land value, mostly, and noise. People moved next to a dragstrip knowing it was there and then complained about what you did at the strip, make noise. Go Figure. Just like building housing next to an airport. People want low cost housing but that will...

Turn Signals - Driving me nuts!

More then likely an issue with the turn signal switch. IMO. Even if new, it still is a likely culprit...or the connector that goes to the turn signal switch, at bottom of the steering column...

How old are you and how long have you raced

I'm 62 and my racing was limited to test and tune events and Alamo Dragstrip (Closed) and more recently San Antonio Raceway (Recently closed). Here in central Texas we don't have any more dragstrips to my knowledge, so building a race-only car is pointless. San Antonio Raceway was a great...

    wiper pivot lube

I guess that I look at our old cars through different eyes, and a lot of my friends do too. My 3 cars don't go out in the rain, plus, they do not get hosed down either, dry cleaned. Some plastic just deteriorates on its own, whether it's greased or silicone lubricant is used. I guess that...

Is the transmission 2000 Dodge Durango R/T 5.9 dead?

According to my trans guy, he suggested NOT putting new solenoids in it unless it's checked out internally. The two solenoids can get pretty pricy and if it's slipping it could toast the new solenoids if you try to drive it.

Turn Signals - Driving me nuts!

The front turn signals, and the lights on the dash turn indicators, Are on a different circuit then the rear lights. They always work even when brakes are applied. Do the turn lights on the dash work? And get an electronic flasher, flashes with any load, or no load at all. Easier to trouble...

Going to Check Out a "Barn Find"

It is not unusual for a car be listed for sale on FB Marketplace, old CL, for some silly high $, and you can footnote the ad or get the guys cell number, and call back a year later... and the seller will still say " I know what I got, I ain't dropping the price one penny!"

U Bolts from a Dakota rear end working on an 8 3/4. Has anyone used this or heard of this.

That's not possible.. I wonder if you can go to the parts house and use universal ubolts in place.. Now if those fit report back with your finding's you sir are a genius.

U Bolts from a Dakota rear end working on an 8 3/4. Has anyone used this or heard of this.

U-bolts don't care what they are on... if the axle is 3" diameter and the right length the ubolts will work... I bought new ones from mancini with the flat spot also.

Is the transmission 2000 Dodge Durango R/T 5.9 dead?

Thank you. The solenoid possibly being the issue was suggested to me. Definitely will be a beginning point.

U Bolts from a Dakota rear end working on an 8 3/4. Has anyone used this or heard of this.

I believe I saw this on Slant six.org a while back. Has anyone used the Dakota rear axle U bolts on an 8 3/4 rear end? They supposedly have the flat spots at the top of the u bolt for proper alignment of the axle.
