Let me save you (OP) some aggravation. Take that housing and throw it off a bridge now and find a factory piece. I’ve tried two of those and they both warped after about 6 months worth of heat cycles. I’d take them off and mill them flat again only to have them warp again. No amount of RTV will...
72 Duster. Bought it in 1999 when I was 17.
This was the day I left for the Army. The girl in the background was my high school sweetheart.
Ended up keeping both. Painted the Duster and married my sweetheart, in that order.
...for that application or if guys just experiment with different stuff to see what works. I imagine it would have to have good chemical resistance and be able to withstand at least 300*F temperatures. I would think a flowing epoxy would be better than knife grade also.
What do you guys use?
Not mine. Just saw it on Pittsburgh Craigslist and thought I’d pass it along.

Am I the only guy that thinks the buyer actually got what he paid for? I mean that’s a lot of parts for $1200. Think about the cost of that stuff if sold separately. 340 block (~$500), J heads (~$200), steel crank (~$400), new pistons (~$400), plus everything else it came with. I think the sum...
I pulled this one out of it’s grave a few years ago. Father/son project for his first car. ‘70 Swinger 225, 3 on the tree will be replaced with 340 4 speed
Do you mind sharing the part number? I installed this one in my 422 -Mechanical Roller Camshaft; 1964 - 2003 Chrysler 273, 340, 360 2800 to 6800 Howards Cams 712113-08 | Howards Cams
Haven’t run it yet but I expect it to make good steam with excellent street manners.
To get under $60K I’d probably have to get a ratty beater, but I’m fine with that. My friend’s dad had one when we were kids and I’ve lusted after them ever since. 1971 Challenger R/T, Hemi Orange with black stripe. Droooool…..
Looking for anyone with a Summit discount code that they are not going to use. I tried using the latest one posted in the discount thread but it wouldn’t work for me. Maybe they are one time use? Anyway, if you have a catalog with a code on it please pm me. Thanks!
Oh man, that is almost my dream car! Only thing missing is the 8-71 huffer and me behind the wheel. Please, please, please post some more pics when he gets it back together and out in the sunlight. Thanks.
Can’t friggin BELIEVE none of you guys mentioned that donkey dick slinky upper radiator hose! Hahaha!
Looked like ol Steve-o was up for 3 days straight on a meth bender. Jeeez. 40K….what a joke.
Depends on what the car is set up for currently. If you have to go changing k-frame, trans/bellhousing, driveshaft, exhaust, etc., then your budget is out the window. Build whatever the car is set up for.
