    Another boring mpg story…

Yeah that came to an end here last August. Minimum ethanol content is now 5% even in the 94 octane from Chevron.

    Another boring mpg story…

That’s a good run! Were you moving along the Malahat or was it stop and go/crawl through that choke point? Hwy 4 can be a fun drive west of PA if you’re not stuck behind a camper van. I’d be happy with that mileage too.

Oh you’re has the fuel pacer system…. Not a common option and only available in 75 and 76. And on a slant 6!

What wires to redo first? 1975 custom

Yup, that’s the voltage regulator that’s decided to oooze its backing on the fender apron.

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Your making great progress learning various areas of your car! Well done! How did he get Dart (2 door hardtop) doors for your Duster? Did he tell you the doors were wrong before he butchered them?

Three good reasons why I still do my own repairs.

Yup. Yet some people think flying in small planes is unsafe yet every commercial built plane needs to be annually inspected (and not just kicking the tires) to be insured annually. However, depending on the jurisdiction, vehicles dont have any inspections or do but they are Mickey Mouse, and...

Three good reasons why I still do my own repairs.

The frightening thing is the people who actually do those repairs probably think those are completely fine ‘fixes’. In other words, they would likely do similar repairs on their own cars.

[SOLD] 1974 Plymouth Duster /Valiant Head light bezels

73/74 used the same bezels while 75/76 were different bezels (mounting holes and finish).

Going to Check Out a "Barn Find"

That’s frustrating to experience. Do you know if the car is still not sold? I suppose after a period of time the seller will realise his asking price is out of touch with reality. It all comes down to how badly does he want to sell it.

    2024 Wheels Nationals Umea.

Perfect time of year for it! I remember being on a road trip (I wasn’t old enough to drive yet) where we drove from Stockholm to northern Sweden (Kiruna) and then zipped over into Norway (Narvik) before making our way back to Stockholm. The endless hours of daylight during the summer in...

    Bf Goodrich brown walls

That’s what I used for years to whiten up my BFG’s. They have since been replaced with a set of Copper Cobras now.

In the first photo you can see something behind the drivers side front tire on the red Mustang; could be smoke from the start of a skid or fluid?

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Nicely done! You probably feel great after that project and you should! With that success you should be able to start tackling some basic mechanical work on the car too! Keep it up; before you know it, you might be rebuilding the transmission!

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Given this was your Dads car I get the sense you are going to keep the car for many years? Sure there will be the things that will need to be fixed longer term based on the job the restoration shop did recently. I like your effort trying to get the car running now. Get it running and drive it...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Looking sharp! What size tires you running on the rear? They looked quite ‘sucked in’ under the rear quarter panels.

That is quite something! Shows how strong and thick the metal is on the cars back in the day. Plus it helps there are lots of sharp 180 degree corners which makes it even more difficult to deform.

Where does it state sequential serial numbers must be used for all four tires???? I think you meant to say all four tires must be the same size????

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

I can only imagine the aggravation you have taking photos of it now. Those interior shots are grim considering you paid for that work. While you weren’t confident of your car restoration skills prior to the project, I suspect looking at the work done, you now realise you could do some of the...

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

No point beating yourself up as that’s not going to change the outcome. Having the work done a province away, let alone a city away, was super risky, regardless if you know the person/business or not. Super hard to see with your own eyes daily progress on the build (whether it be a car or...
