    valve chatter 360 magnum

I agree. Got to at least check them out before installing a used engine. From what I have seen of cam bearings on even lower mileage magnums you are just asking for problems otherwise.

Did you install the computer for the seat belts as well? Just FYI for others newer 2001 up Sebring convertible seats don't require a computer to lock the belts like 96-2000 models do. Nice ride btw

Necroposting. At least I didn't start it this time. :)

Estimated hp and tq. 360 la

Others have chimed in answering your question about approximate numbers. I will just say bolt it up and have fun regardless of any specific numbers. A running car is going to be more fun than one sitting for months or years waiting to assemble the "perfect" build.

Going to be an interesting week. Lots of decisions to be made.

At least you are only burning boxes instead of being hacked off enough to burn the car...

    valve chatter 360 magnum

I am not going to say what is right or wrong on someone else's engine built by a 3rd party. I will say though that if I built a motor than only made 10lbs of oil pressure at idle I would for sure find out why. It may not be an issue now, but what happens a couple years down the road?

    valve chatter 360 magnum

Definitely would try heavier oil to start with. Anyone had experience with an oil pump spring becoming weak after warm up? Wondering if replacing with a higher pressure spring would help?

What's the best way to fix aluminum intake threaded hole for temp gauge sending unit?

I bet they either lowered the price or they took them back home with them.

    Fighting sore back once again

Get a couple of the big gel ice packs off of amazon. They help keep me going with all kinds of back problems. Just getting over spraining my sacroiliac joint again. That one put be down for over a month. Steroid injection in the joint finally gave some relief after chiropractor, ice, and...

Rebuilding 440 after wiping a cam lobe

That really sucks. Sorry that happened to you sir. I would tear it all down and start again, cleaning everything well enough to eat off of it. Pay special attention to the lifter bores. I would install whatever cam and lifters you will use by themselves in the bare block, then mark each...

How much would you pay for a product made in the US vs China

Depends a lot on the part. Good oem supplier brake rotors made in USA or Canada, I would gladly pay 5 times as much. A crap quality edlebrock intake not inclined to spend more than a higher quality knock off.

What MPG are you 340 guys getting?

Watch your trans coolant temps. That 4400 stall with an overdrive could be a problem if it isn't a lock up converter.

    Another boring mpg story…

If it isn't a "modern" fuel injection setup designed to use the ethanol gas, my stuff gets ethanol free fuel. Doesn't matter if it is $1.00 a gallon more. It still saves money and aggravation in the long run.

    Another boring mpg story…

AJ in an engine that is run often it can be ok. Let it still in a carb for a month though and you will likely have problems- especially with small two stroke engines

    Another boring mpg story…

Not bad at all sir. Depending on the weight of your right foot, there are likely more mpgs to be gained with further tuning.

Jeg's Reversible Extended Reach Cutoff Tool

Just a thought, but it might not be the tool that is the problem. If you don't have a large compressor that puts out the CFM required for the tool that will make it work like crap as well.

"They" are flat wrong about that. Try pricing some homeowners insurance in Florida right now and get back with me.

    Insurance

Insurance rates have been and are going through the roof. It pays to shop your policies every year with different companies. The best deal isn't always having both policies with the same company. The insurance companies have no loyalty to you as a customer, so return in kind and shop for the...

E58 400 plus HP Dart sport build

Cool build. I like them all and appreciate the hard work we all put in to our rides. If I were set on the combo the op is putting together making the 400hp I would at least take a look at the comp 275 cam with the mopar lobes.

E58 400 plus HP Dart sport build

I have no dog in this hunt. But I will mention the westech dyno seems to be a little on the happy side compared to others. For instance a stock rebuilt high compression 340 with headers and the comp 268 cam supposedly made 400 hp as well. That said what you are putting together sounds like...

Yet engine masters did a heads up dyno run between similarly built 383s of the mopar and chevy variety, and the mopar was much better.

Perfect Circle or Mahle rings or are they the same?

Used to run perfect circle rings back in the 80s and 90s with no problems. Mahle has bought up piston and ring suppliers so likely the same product.

    UTG vs DDG

Not that anyone cares, but here is my two cents. The more mopar content, the better for the hobby and those of us that enjoy it. Been turning wrenches for 40 years, so have seen/heard about/done most of what is discussed in youtube vidoes. But every once in a while I learn something and am...

    408 Magnum stroker HEAD HELP!

Yeah the trick flows are tough to pull the trigger on when the price of the special rockers gets factored in. Not saying they aren't worth it, but they are definitely not budget friendly.

    Restart the rebuild

The fan in that pick isn't going to pull much air through the radiator without a shroud in place and installed at the right depth within it.

Someone needs to start re-casting 340 blocks

There is truth to that example. Then there is the other side of the coin where it cost 750 bucks for a set of brackets to convert a big block to a serpentine belt. There is a mopar tax and that has in part made mopar owners fashion there own stuff sometimes or just not buy period..

Someone needs to start re-casting 340 blocks

We all know that around these parts. Thing is a restomod mopar for sale with a 340 under the hood would bring more interest and money than the same car with a similarly built 360.
