    How many?

Just wondering if anyone knew how many Demon 340, 4 speed cars were made. Found the total but couldn't come up with factory 4 speed numbers.

Just checked my records. Boy was I off. Primary was .070 factory. I drilled them to .078. I'm assuming secondary will be .070 also. Probably drill them to .078 also. I have been writing everything down, too. No way I'd remember anything.

Well thanks, now I gotta run over there later. I'm second guessing myself!

without running to my shop, I believe they were .068.

Yep. Opened up the front PVRC to .072. Think I'll do the same on the secondary side. Also plan to try Newbomb's advice and leave #1 and #4 emulsions open and block the rest. I feel like I'm getting really close.

Here's my results, so far. Starting with brand new plugs. Blocked "2 and #5 just in the primary block. Pretty big change. Friday was 82*, 60% RH, and it was damn near PERFECT. Idling at 13.5, cruising at anywhere between 2400 and 3200 right around 14 ish. WOT I think a little lean at 13.4 to...

Well I'm going to block #2,3 and 5. See what the hell happens soon! I'll pivot to Holley tech now......... I called today and played dumb. They have no clue why or how many emulsion bleeds are there. Dude says "you're mistaken sir, there's only 1 at the top of the block and 1 at the very...

    Lean idle. Rich cruise.

Yeah I thought about that. But why in the crap did they put so many bleeds there i the first place? I can't imagine any benefit with 8 friggin holes on each block. I'm wondering if this is a WOT thing.......totally baffles me.

I was wrong! Digging in again today I realize I mis spoke. Their are FIVE emulsion bleeds on each side of my blocks. 2nd from the top is a blank, all others are .028. Idles are on top and .035. FYI: you cannot use standard brass set screws in these blocks. They will screw all the way into the...

Phew! That's a lot to digest. But first step is to plug those emulsion bleeds mentioned and make sure idle feeds are in the lower position. Have to order some .026 Main air bleeds. So those 3 things I will try in one step. Usually don't like trying more than 1 change at a time. But it makes...

Dyno'd it when built. Engine dyno. Locked. The only curve that even was close was 10 degree bushing with two light springs. 25 initial, all in by 2500(35) It hated that the least. I tried every spring combo possible. Went all the way to 2 heavy springs. 25 degrees initial and all in (35), at...

reviving this old thread again! Ordered a 10 degree bushing and a whole new set of springs from 4 Seconds Flat. Played around with the curve for a couple weeks and here's what I got: My particular engine in MY car absolutely hated every curve I tried. And I tried everything everyone suggested...

    Speedmaster Stainless Rocker Arm Issues

One important thing I learned from Mike@B3 is the SIZE of the sweep, not just the position. He got my PRW's to around .035 sweep jut a hair off center. If ya read the whole 3 or 4 page article, you see that "dwell' is key. Been dealing with him for years. The Jedi Knight of rocker to valve...

Could it be this easy? Went out today, only a couple degrees cooler than the other day and rode around for an hour. Cruising anywhere between 40 and 65 MPH. Up a 2 mile fairly steep 40MPH hill. Really gave it a chance to get hot. Even went to the "spot", made a couple passes and came home. It...

Forgot to mention that dyno numbers are a fact. Just watch the episode. 35- 40 Horsepower. That's substantial. Maybe not necessary in my case but still substantial. We carefully choose our parts, build our engines with utmost care and cost for performance, and a fan robs us. The numbers don't...

I'm going to really give it a thorough shakedown to see if it gets hotter than 195. Then I'll go from there. I'm glad I saved my shroud, just in case I go back to an engine driven fan. I'm with Rusty, on the fact I JUST DON'T like 195. I know it's probably ok, but........so close to TOO HOT...

Hey man....I prefer belt driven fans too, but it's a proven fact they eat a LOT of horsepower. See Enginemasters fan episode.

Yep. Anti collapse wire in there. Will get hot(190ish), just cruising around at around even at 45 MPH steadily. Head into town hit a bunch of stop lights, comes right down to 175-180' was told this is a classic sign of not enough capacity. I personally feel like the electric fan and shroud...

Anyone out there have any experience with Griffin Exact Fit radiators? Very pricey, but have to get this thing cooled down a bit. Currently running factory type rad with Derale 2600 CFM fan. Just don't like seeing 195 degrees driving down the highway. Cools down in traffic. Just a hair away...

Yep, finally found them on my phone, Sir Rumble. The first column is heads as ported by my machinist, Doug Domhoff. Second column is after the new port job. Have no flow info on the Super Victor other that it sure looks different than when i sent it to him. Actually Doug's hand port job back in...

Have connectors welded in. Did that the first week I owned it. They can come right back out if ever needed. Not much pretzel effect here. I don't think.... Point it where you want to go, dump the clutch on the 2 step and it leaves straight as an arrow. (probably just jinxed myself there)

Yeah.......... tech is a problem. Had it at the track in late 2022 and was kind of surprised I got shut down. old guy said I ran too fast. "Buy an NHRA book". I'm not cutting up a real Demon 340 4 speed for a bar or bars. Maybe if it was a slant or 318 car but no way. I do not condone what we do...

It's just a .040 over 360, 4 inch stroker with Edelbrock heads. 11.25:1, Lunati solid roller .259/.265, .640 lift. Holley Ultra XP. I'm not a keyboard dyno guy, but just wondered if maybe I hit that magic 600 mark that smallblocks explode:rofl:

Geez hope you guys can read it. Darn scanner broke. It made 576 at 6100 and 532 ft/lb at 4900. Hope that helps.
