Going to be an interesting week. Lots of decisions to be made.

Just seen a post on Facebook about the race at Keystone this weekend. I don't know Michael personally but know of him and he seems like a good guy, not sure why this race didn't attract racers at $400 entry for a 10K/20K/10K. Unfortunately, we have an extremely low turnout today. While R/U...

    727 Help Please

Check lugs on front pump, I had them sheer off before, but that pump had 25 or so years of hard drag racing on it before that.

Going to be an interesting week. Lots of decisions to be made.

That's the one part of my outside woodstove that I enjoy so much. All of our trash goes in it year round to heat our house and hot water so I don't have a pile of boxes laying around, other than the large stash I keep for when I sell stuff to ship.

Sitting here watching racing and thinking about how crazy this game has gotten

I've never been a fan of buybacks but I understand it why they have them. I've been racing since 95 and I can count on 1 hand how many times I have doubled enter and I bet I have bought back less than a dz times as well. I keep thinking about trying a big money race some day, but like you said...

Contest time! Guess the ET and MPH to win!

The bigger question is why is the car picking up so much? You started day at 10.68 and ended at 10.50. That's almost 2 tenths. Did the weather/wind change that much, traction issue?

Friend’s motorhome caught fire on the way home from keystone

In a situation like that maybe pull the pin from the receiver, unhook the 2 chains and pull it away, don't worry about the trailer plug or the breakaway cable, just get it away as quick as possible.

This gets expensive real quick. Not mine.

oof, for something to be that tore up I wonder just what was the cause of it.

How old are you and how long have you raced

I'm 37, but started racing in 1995 when I was 8 in Jr dragsters. From 1995-2017 I pretty much raced every weekend from March-Oct, never missed a points race etc. Wife and I decided to scale back in 2018 as we had some major home renovations we wanted to do ourselves to help with cost. Since...

How do those temps look for a 4 day race weekend

Gonna be hot and miserable. If you do well the heat won't be so bad, if you don't, than sit in the AC and complain how stupid hot it is and be glad you don't have to get back in the car.

    A few 2-Step questions

Get an adjustable button like the Just-n-Time Button from Biondo. That way you can really refine your lights without having to adjust rpm and what not, just adjust the button. Or get really fancy and just put a delay box in the car and wire it thru that, depending on which classes your going to run.

    Transmission cooler for drag racing

We used to have tube and fin style trans coolers and had the same issue. Since have switched to plate style coolers (ours has no fan) and we don't have an issue with them getting hot anymore. I actually installed a thermostat in mine to help the trans warm up quicker. Ours are mounted in front...

    Front/rear suspension options?

I'd suggest super stock springs and a stock K frame since it's a "budget" build. If you were are planning on getting in the mid 500+ HP range I'd suggest cal-tracs. After market k frame stuff is nice, but pricey too. As long as you can find stock stuff cheap I'd go that route, if you can't...

    Anyone done a strong 400 build ?

I've always wanted to build a 511 pump gas motor, but never got around to it. To me if they kits all cost the same, why not go bigger. There's no replacement for displacement.

    How much dyno corrected HP?

I'm guessing 770-780ish at the flywheel. We had my wife engine dyno's and for the ET it runs using Wallace racing calculator there's about 11% loss. It's a decent sorta out combo, but I"m sure there's more in it so I think 10% loss from flywheel to rear wheels would be a fair guesstimate.

    73 Duster build named Fred

Nice looking Daytona. For me I'd love to have the Daytona or a fast chassis car in general, but sometimes less is more. I like low maintenance stuff and being Fred is street able you don't have to wait for the weekend or tow to the track to enjoy.

How does the air compared from Vegas to your home track? The 200lb lost was prob worth .14 of your pickup as my cars seems 100 lbs make a .07 difference in the 1/8th.

    Is this car worth 8000

I've seen more $ asked for worse. Pros: Appears like a solid body Has entire drivetrain Cons: Been sitting a while, and personally I would have to at least regasket the engine and trans so see what they are and make sure things are right at the min. May need new fuel lines Brakes lines may...

Sneaking in without a roll cage

Depends on the track and how well or if they actually do tech. A roll bar is required at 11.49 1/4 mile, a roll cage isn't required until 10.99 or 9.99 if your floor and such isn't all cut up. I wouldn't run a car without proper safety equipment, but most tracks if it's your first time there...

    Do you rotate your slicks?

I tried rotating my slicks every few weeks about 10 years ago. I did this for a few months than quit doing it. Really didn't notice any difference other than the work to swap them around.

I have no experience with Glory Days end products, but a few years ago he bought a Maverick off my wife to start making molds for Mavericks. Might be worth a shot to contact him to see if he can make the hoods, you guys want. If he has the mold for the hood, changing the scoop may not be to...

With the way the steel bumper is bent, I don't think factory brackets would've helped any. What did you hit?

    Going Powerglide

I think it really depends on the combo, but if the convertor is matched properly I think it should run the same, must may slow down your 60', but pick up mph.
