    Cheap eating tonight

I had half a box of mac and cheese with some Spam cut up in it. Cost me about $2 and I'll get two meals out of it. Cheap is as cheap does.

    No 10 W 30 oil at Walmart.

It seems 10w-30 is going the way of the 10w-40. Ninety percent of what we do at the dealership is 5w-30.

My wife asked me about getting a new truck when I retire. I said Hell yeah! and showed her these videos. That's not what she had in mind.

    What Pet(s) do you have?

This is our latest addition. She's 10 weeks old and cute as can be. That being said, being a puppy parent is a FULL TIME job. Must be time for me to clock in?

    Classic car insurance

I have had the same State Farm agent for 44 years. When my Dart was stolen last year, I had a check for the agreed upon amount minus my deductible in less than a week. No complaints.

Facebook Mopar cars and parts only swap meet private group legit?

I was removed from the group on FB within 12 hours of joining it. Apparently the moderators didn’t like the questions that I was asking? But there’s still almost 20k members that couldn’t see through their games.

    Opinions on used Ford Escape

We have been using my MIL's 2015 Escape Titanium for the last couple of weeks and it seems to be a fine little SUV. We had it serviced and inspected and they didn't find anything wrong. All recalls are up to date. We are thinking of buying it from her because she is elderly and doesn't drive it...

    The thrill is gone?

Put me down as another older guy who's passion is waning. I still get up every morning and read the threads here but can't bring myself to work on my car every day. I'm in the middle of a project that should have taken two months, but it is now coming up on six. I want to get it done and drive...

    Darts First Test Drive.

I've been following along. When you decide to tackle the mufflers message VOETOM and he'll help you pick a good flowing pair.

    Facebook Market Place Rant

I buy and sell plenty on MP but it's just like stated above. Try to put as much info into the title and description or your messenger will blow up with questions. And then there's the scammers but they are pretty easy to spot after a while. I always say that there's still good deals out there...

    First Drag strip visit

Around 1974 or so, my friends and I used to ride our bikes about a mile and a half to Kansas City International Raceway (KCIR) and watch the races through the chain link fence. We could hear the funny cars running from our houses and it was like the Siren's song calling us. Evel Knievel even...

Should I be feeling more power?

We have a local shop here that charges $150/hr with a two hour minimum. My friend took his recently rebuilt 440 Coronet there and the guy tuned it and ran it twelve times on the dyno. He found 56 rear wheel horsepower on a car that we thought ran pretty well. It was well worth the money spent.

Shipping parts- new way to me. Thought I’d share.

I used the bathroom scale (digital) to ship a 70 pound pair of leaf springs this week. I also have a smaller food scale to weigh boxes up to 5 pounds.

Shipping parts- new way to me. Thought I’d share.

I've been using Pirate Ship for a few months and it really is quite a bit cheaper than going straight to the UPS store. Plus, since you already have a shipping label, I can just pop into the store and get the package scanned into the system. No more waiting around while some kid tries to measure...

    Polka polka nights

Our family is German on both sides, so yes, I've been known to enjoy a good Polka dance occasionally. I don't dance myself, but we enjoy the music and the costumes. Why? so you can smell stale, hot beer and vomit? Edit: Oktoberfest in München is a life goal. @RRR you don't have to sell it to...

    Freddys not dead

We have In and Out, Whataburger, Freddy's, Culver's plus the usual fast food. I prefer a "Big John" from Johnny Ray's. It's a local mom and pop drive through that hosts a cruise-in one night a month.

Another "Is this still available?" Response

I like the ones that say "Is this item for sale?" Scammers are so lazy they just send out a blanket response. I just delete them and move on. If it really was an interested party, they'll message back. I posted a Parts Wanted ad on Marketplace and the scammers try to direct you to their FB...

Give me an education about this "PIRATE SHIP" method that has been discussed here.

I recently tried it out on a small box going half way across the country. They used UPS to get it to the local post office and then USPS for home delivery. Worked like a charm and was much less than I expected to pay.

Jumper cables? Nah....there is a newer better solution.

I helped a kid out in front of the sandwich shop the other day. A guy my age was trying to jump it with cables and couldn't get it done. Grabbed the jumper box and he was on his way to O'reilly's to get his battery checked. He looked at me like I was Batman.

Jumper cables? Nah....there is a newer better solution.

I work on a lot of cars at various dealerships. I always have a jump box similar to the second one in with my tools. Charges with a regular extension cord and an outlet. The small ones are handy also and fit in your glovebox.

    Good guy alert!!

This place is FULL of great people helping each other out, that's what makes it so special. Good job on both of you! I love the old school DC valve covers. I bought a used pair for my current build.
