Which head/combustion chamber is better for performance? Speed master aluminum LA or aftermarket magnum iron head?

Thanks, that was definitely the cast iron magnum R/T. They were a magnum style head with W2 influence. @Brian Hafliger at IMM is currently evaluating a set for me now. I’ll post what he finds.

Well, I drug home another one

Update, the entire time time the engine has run on the stand, it has been with my go to, known good working, Holley 750vs that I use to break in any engine I screw together. I ordered another CSU blow through carb weeks ago because Kevin did such a nice job on the carb for my boat and yesterday...

    Blown head gasket

Did you come to any conclusions as to why it pushed the gasket out?

this damn car is freaking killing me.

If the pan springs up when you loosen the bolts it didn’t seal. Is it hitting a pick up or a windage tray or something?

    Fuel systems for drag cars

Yea it’s fairly forgiving and durable. It does work harden because of the copper content but doesn’t get brittle. I’ve found if you don’t manipulate it too much it’s very easy to use. Stick to single bends, and a flare. If you mess up get another stick. It’s pretty cheap also if you buy a roll...

    Fuel systems for drag cars

I’d post a pic but you can’t see any of it under the hatch. It’s all hardlined in 1/2” nicop (coast guard rules) and all aeromotive stuff. It works well.

    Yes, the regulator.

    Fuel systems for drag cars

On my boat (twin turbo big block Chevy) I have twin tanks, each with their own A1000 aeromotive pump, and each with their own return. I return right back at the filler neck and don’t aerate the fuel at all. At idle the amount of fuel returned to each tank is incredible. I could fill a kiddie...

this damn car is freaking killing me.

Wow you went a lot longer than I would have. The engine I just finished leaked at the China rails, both corners at the front. Pissed me off that I had to yank the intake and use up another set of NOS W2 gaskets. But I was glad to find it on the run stand and not after I put it in the car.

    Fuel systems for drag cars

I run a return system on ANYTHING (regardless of hp) that is street driven, or has an electric pump.

this damn car is freaking killing me.

That sucks but I like your plan of attack. Yank the damn engine, find leak, fix, stab engine back in. To me that’s easier than laying on my back for 3 days wiping, cleaning and trying to run the engine to find the leak.

Which head is that? Most of the crate engines I’m aware of used either; Cast iron magnum head Cast iron magnum R/T head Aluminum edlebrock magnum head

Hemi Swapping a perfectly good 70 Duster

I used the bungs supplied by innovate and basically flush mounted them. It seems I always have one of the two O2 sensors that doesn’t heat properly. Cycle the ignition once or twice and all is well.

Hemi Swapping a perfectly good 70 Duster

I have that dual innovate wide band in my boat, and one going in my dart, it’s an excellent piece. Have you noticed any heating issues with either of your sensors?

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

No It will work but not without tuning. And a bunch of it. The amount of work for any carb will be about the same.

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

The stock 7.3 ford turbo has a 76mm inducer on the compressor. Much too large for a stock 150hp 225

Lots of guys use the 7.3 ford power stroke turbo. Maybe that’s what he meant.

What’s required to make an N/A carb work on say a 671 blower?

If the car is street driven and any semblance of fuel economy is desired then boost referencing the power valve circuit is really the only right way to do it. Plugging the PV can work but to make the engine happy at wot the mains are so rich that cruise economy suffers badly. Boost referencing...

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

If you’re going to do a draw through setup, use a turbo that was originally designed for it or you’ll constantly be dealing with oil consumption. They have a carbon seal that allows the turbo to be in vacuum and not draw oil. If you’re not interested in power then really any turbo will work that...

Great grandson of Walter P. Chrysler wants to buy the company back from Stellantis

Doesn’t matter what he does with the company if he buys it, he still has to abide by all of the ridiculous EPA mandates and C.A.F.E regulations that are putting all real car companies in the shitter.
