    Damn! Damn! Damn!

    Now that's what I'd like to steal from the cloud!

    That's logical.

    Damn! Damn! Damn!

    Good god, it was just a suggestion. I had no idea people felt so strongly about storing photos online. It's funny though, I'd bet almost all of you conduct online banking and don't think twice....

    Damn! Damn! Damn!

    Sorry to hear! My phone was run over by a big truck earlier this year, so I feel your pain. Might I suggest using cloud-based storage in the future, so you don't lose pictures or files? It also frees up storage on your phone, because you can delete the images from your phone but keep them...

    New shop for projects

    Congrats! The shop looks great. I'm asking purely so I can learn, but why was the slab poured after the building was erected, and not the other way around?

    Restoring the garage bay. Any garage ideas I should do to make life easier?

    Good call. My two cents -- one of my biggest pet peeves is electrical cords or air hose on the floor. For that reason, I love hose reels and cord reels. I suggest at least one of each. Treed by @gdrill!

    A real build not nickle and dime wannabe junk

    I love this place. OP makes some arcane post, but that doesn't stop anyone. We're three pages in and just having conversation & talkin ****.

    Rattle Can / Spray Bomb fun...

    Looks great from where I'm sitting! Congrats on making some big progress -- it really does feel great to clear the log jam and gives much needed motivation. At least for me it does.

    Show us your home made tools

    You're becoming quite a star out there! I love the setup. Nice and simple, but well-thought out.

    Why Is It?

    ...learn the fundamentals and actually have something I can work on without pluggin it into a computer. Since then I've been hooked (and broke, LOL). *That being said* Just know that not all of the folks here who come for advice are going to look a gift horse in the mouth. What I mean is, I...

    Reshaping History with Digital Sheet Forming

    I agree, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just the normal progression as we develop new technology. Like @Dana67Dart mentioned, understanding the fundamentals of any trade is crucial, whether you're doing it by hand or telling a robot what to do.

    @pittsburghracer gone.

    Like me, most people here never even had the honor to meet the man. But in some strange way, I feel a void. What I'm trying to say is that for you badasses here on the forum, you keep on being a badass. You might not realize the asset you are.

    @pittsburghracer gone.

    Wow, this is shocking and very sad. PBR added so much to this site -- with his knowledge and humor. He was one of the good ones, for sure. Rest in peace, good sir.

    Let's hear your "black widow" part story.

    My dad gave me a toolbox for Christmas one year when I was a kid. After that, it was allllll over...... :)

    Added a lift

    Congratulations! I installed a two post a couple years ago, and use it way more than I had anticipated. Your back, knees, and hips will thank you.

    Welcome from Sahuarita! This forum has saved my hide many times. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here.

    Boise on fire

    I haven't seen it used on any of the wildland assignments I've been on, maybe @go-fish has. We use foam routinely on the structural side, though. @mbaird -- glad you're staying safe. I know it's sad to see your "backyard" burn like that, especially if you're outdoorsy. 50 years is a long time...

    Planning my shop Build-out for next summer, looking for advice.

    ^^^^^Bingo!!!! @ProjectBazza -- my advice would be to make sure you have enough power to grow. In other words, if your panel only has 100 amps, consider upgrading to 150 or 200 in case you want to move some bigger equipment in there. My shop only has 100 amps, and every day I wish I had at...

    Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

    Just three days ago, we worked a house fire that appeared to have originated from HVAC wiring in the attic. Flat roof with about 16" of space between the interior ceiling and roof. The fire was still small, but making a run in the attic space. We HAD to pull lots of ceiling and cut the roof to...

    R.I.P. Thurman

    RIP, little Thurman. Thanks for sharing your story. I think rescued animals are often times keenly aware that they've made it to a loving home, and that's why they're so easy to care for. You guys gave him the best for the last stage of his life, and were merciful when the time came. You have my...

    Shop safety

    Yikes! I think I'll go out and tighten all of my chucks right now... Agreed. I pout 1/4 turn valves just about everywhere I can. I like having the option to isolate the system anywhere I want.
