[WANTED] Need driveshaft for 1968 dart 8 3/4" rear

Yes, it does occur way too much but when it does, if members would report it, it will usually get taken care of rather quickly. There's only a few mods trying to make sure a huge site run smoothly but we also have lives of our own (for the most part) and can't always be on the site.

Site sucks for mobile users because of ads

Yup but without the staff, the site would suck imo. IF all the members were self-policing, there would be no need for mods but would still need someone to make sure the site stays up and running good.

Site sucks for mobile users because of ads

If that was the case, there would be no world wide websites of any kind....last time I looked, building up a website and maintaining it costs money. So, uh, you've never needed any questions answered or have never experienced any benefits from any of the FxBO sites? And 'Tom' at Moparts was the...

Site sucks for mobile users because of ads

Yup, members make the site but web sites are not free for the person/people that own them.

    Another senseless death.

Same here. In the early 70's I spent a year and a half in Germany and got used to driving at high speeds and owned a car that would do 130. Came home to the 55 bs and well, it was hard just to stay away doing 75 unless the radar detector went off. And I'm surprised more were not killed in that...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Prayer goes out for you and the family.....a friend of mine went through a similar situation. Was able to get in a stint in one artery but not the other and also got a pacemaker. Prostate cancer won out about a year or so later though.

Thread missing? 8-3/4 housing end as welded for shortened housing...

I try to let members know why a post gets deleted but sometimes a post will get caught up in a multiple deletion (like a whole thread for example) and if it involves several posts, sometimes a post or two may get lost in the mix. It just depends on what's going on with how my day is going too...

Thread missing? 8-3/4 housing end as welded for shortened housing...

Not unless I crashed....but never did run an 8 3/4 behind a lot of power in a heavy car. How did you bend one into a banana? Edit: Never mind, I read your post just above. In the early 80's I was helping a buddy run a low 11 second RR and after breaking 3 8-3/4 rear ends, we went to a Dana 60...

BB K-member Weight OEM vs DC

The rear 1/4 windows in my 66 Belvedere are fixed but not bolted......and the K frame is trimmed and solid welded. IIRC, it's 32 lbs instead of 40. See my reply just above....

Thread missing? 8-3/4 housing end as welded for shortened housing...

I've used angle iron and band clamps before and it actually came out great. Doesn't mater what kind of clamps used so long as things are tight and align with the bar....

Thread missing? 8-3/4 housing end as welded for shortened housing...

Yup....I put the bar through the 'dummy' bearings in the carrier and then place the bearing housings on the bar. I then tack weld them on and recheck and if they are still on the money, I place more but larger tacks and recheck and if good, it gets 'stitch' welded. 1/2" long stitches and let it...

Thread missing? 8-3/4 housing end as welded for shortened housing...

Yup....I've seen some really rough narrowing jobs over the years. I have a narrowing jig and was surprised to see just how much a housing can move just by doing some welding on it and yup, most of the rough ones still worked well most of the time. Anyone that welds on spring pads for instance...

Can't answer that question since I wasn't following the thread all that close....and generally, we don't remove a vendor's comment unless they start hawking their wares in the regular forums.

    Cruise Night surprise

So far I've found 2 70 Hemi Cudas with the non rallye dash....and both were owned by the same person. It surprised me too and one of them had the 8 3/4 rear end which was also a surprise but that's the way an automatic came with the Dana being an option iirc.

question about website policy on group buys?

Well, if you have something in the works, check with the 'owner' of the site and see what he has to say about it. What's so difficult about that?
