Diesel and v10 share the same bell housing bolt pattern which will not bolt up to a small block Chrysler. They are essentially the same trans, expect for some springs in the valve body, and in the RH, the governor valves.

Sounds to me like you’re either using the wrong port on the carb or the carb base plate is cracked allowing vacuum where it shouldn’t be. A true ported vacuum gets its source from above the throttle blades and has zero vacuum until the throttles are opened.

This assembling is tedious. Chrome and weatherstrip on left roof rail done. Weatherstrip is not easy to get to lock in the channel. Left door mirror, door handle and lock in. Glass next. Next week.

If he has a adjustable fixture for cutting heads, that's what I use to cut intakes. You bolt through the intake flange to the fixture, then indicate in the gasket surface in both axis.
