Adjustable Rockerarms that Fit Under Factory Valve Covers?

No much of a BB guy. But I know mopar made some cast rockers for some apps. My friend had them on his 413 '62 300. But I can't say they came stock on that particular app. Maybe on the early HP 383's, or RB Stage cars, or some long ram 300 letter cars. I think Isky made some, too.

    [SOLD] SB Roller Rocker Arms

Small block 1.5 rocker arm assemblies. As far as I can tell, these are the older style Comp "magnum" rocker arms (#1420) that aren't produced anymore. They are not bushed, and from my research, are chromemoly and are not recommended for open vale spring pressures over 350lbs. Please note that...

'65 273 Formula S rocker arm assembly question

Putting together my solid lifter 273, all stock parts. I have the shafts mounted with the oil holes pointing down towards the exhaust ports in the head and each shaft hole lines up with each rocker. These are cast, not stamped rockers, and I can't find assembly info in the service manual. This...

    Stainless, Bushed PRW Rocker Arms

Next time you pull them off to have a look see, take a look at the bottom side of the shaft, and particularly at the bolt hole in the shaft where the oil comes up from the cam thru the head to oil the rockers, and see if that hole is larger than the other hold down bolt holes in the shaft. I dug...

    Stainless, Bushed PRW Rocker Arms

Thank you for that, And yes the oil holes in the factory 273 shafts are larger then the others. They are installed correctly , Notch down facing inward. Or like you said looking at whichever side of the engine your putting them on, notch down to your left. I'll check the PRW Shafts I believe...

273 Rocker Arm to Shaft Clearance

Your comments about clearance in relationship to shaft diameter are partially why I posted, and, to be clear from my end understanding you weren't responding to me, I understood your suggestion of chroming to tighten the tolerance. The rocker shaft is a similar diameter as a piston wrist pin...

Anyone build a high RPM 273 using 2.02 size head?

On post #109 is a picture of this 273 with the very heads and rocker arm system used during the dyno runs. Is 426ci 360 a small block? As noted in the thread, later the heads were used on a stroker engine with bigger valves and further modifications.

    Trick flow 190 oil feed

Spring pressures and cam lift shove that rocker arm up n the springs resistance is shoving it back 'hence the wear position/witness marks'...those bushings imo have a tendency to wear in & leak out the top. The bushing material matters too of course. I too have a nice set of 273 rockers they're...

    Well now what?

Why would low lift head flow hurt power?

This should be the case for most heads used on the street and light strip applications. The quoted words are aimed at a specific head for a specific use. He’s not wrong, but remember you can’t effectively make good usable power with a tunnel ram, twin 950’s, 2 inch tube headers, etc…. On a...

    340 head torque requirements

You might want to contact Hughes Engines about torque for the head bolts and rocker arm fasteners. We were giving values for stock fasteners. Stock rocker shaft bolts are only grade 5 standard bolts. I only asked about the torque plate as fastener (head bolt) torque has an effect. No worries...

    318 MAX fuel economy builds?

You assume a lot. My dislike of hydraulic lifters of any kind, Rhoads or otherwise, comes from the fact that they are an inaccurate way to actuate valves. Most hydraulic lifters have a plunger range of about .100" or so. Some more. As a result, you never know how much those plungers are moving...

Just to close the loop (and gloat a little), I picked up the Sioux Valve and Seat grinder setup I found on CL locally. It is in excellent mechanical condition. Experts and Know-it-alls welcome..

yes you can use the 273/318 ones (assuming the 273 is a hyd lifter cam). no opinion if new is needed. on mockup check the lifter preload to find out if you need different pushrods & go from there. I wouldn't think you would need custom lengths but if so watch the straub industries utube vid on...
