    MANUAL STEERING FOR DAILY DRIVER

I like the 20:1 manual steering. I've had all three ratio boxes in early-A's and the 20:1 seems right.

    TTI Ceramic Header Rust Question

It's not just TTI with rust coming from under the coating. I had some headers coated at JetHot back in the day that were showing signs of rust. They said that if the car sits for long periods of time moisture could develop under the coating. If you drive it regularly no problems.

It looks like everyone is jumping ship and heading for Youtube. Dulcich just installed an engine dyno at his home shop. Maybe there's a new form of Engine Masters coming from him.

    Manual steering box brand

If you're going to buy new, get a 20:1. But like the others have said if it's a 24:1 that you want, buy a good used one here on FABO.

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

What do you mean C5 and C2? On the fender tag? If you're referring to the fender tag, the C is what transmission came in the car.

    U-Haul car trailer experience?

The trailers tow just fine. I will second that you don't tell them that you're going to load the vehicle full when its on the trailer.

Spring Fling 36 Apr 20 & 21, 2024 Van Nuys CA -info & roll call

We drove down from Washington in my silver 67 Belvedere. Really enjoyed the show and bought a few things in the swap. We’ll run show with lots of great cars. Already planning for next year. We put about 3000 miles on the Belvedere so it now has 23,000 original miles on it.

    Steering ratio doubler advice.

@72bluNblu, My 66 Valiant wagon had a factory installed 16:1 steering box and 245/60/14 tires. It was very heavy but responsive driving down the road. It just wasn’t for me.

    Steering ratio doubler advice.

Have you driven your car with manual steering? A-bodies in my opinion don't need power steering. My go-to manual steering is the 20:1. It's one full turn faster than the 24:1 but not as "heavy" feeling as the 16:1. Electric power steering? Why? Are you planning to upgrade your electrical system...

    Tire clearance

15x7 is the wheel you want. A 255 is pretty big for an early A-body. You'll have to do some work to get it in the wheel well.

    Stacking aluminum lowering block?

I use 2" blocks to cut down because they're on the shelf locally.
  25. Commando66

    Stacking aluminum lowering block?

    Cut down a 2" block. That's what I usually do on early A-bodies to get 1 1/2".

Best bang for the buck (and engineering) is a 73-76 A-body style brake setup from Dr Diff.
