Just bought some for mine. 1 1/4" in length works with a lock washer, grade 8. They can picked up at an auto parts store.

The lower pan looks like the one I have. The top pan looks like a front sump. The small (ribbed)and large end on that pan are opposite of what I need. it also does not look like it has the dip stick guide/channel for a rear sump pan.

It is a one piece gasket. The gasket is correct for the block. The 4 piece gasket (the one with two large end gaskets) that is correct for the pan is not correct for the block. If someone has a good rear sump truck pan, one that has the large front and small end, I'm interested.

I stopped bythe store this morning and looked at the others they had. All were the same, able to push down on the pluger with my finger.

Yeah....I had those too but fixed 'em, new gaskets, removed the manifold "flapper" and plugged the holes.

The worst that could happen is it will expedite my desire/plan for new heads and cam.

I didn't pull the intake. I pulled the lifter out with a magnet so just a matter of pulling the rockers and rods. The existing lifter looked fine, nothing looked wrong with the wear.

I was able to move it (the new lifter plunger) with my fingers. I'll try to run by tomorrow and look at another one. So it seems that the preload is excessive due to the plunger depressing.

I just read another post and it says "the lifters will quiet down after a few minutes". Is this literal? I shut my motor off after about 15 seconds thinking something was very wrong. Should I just let it run?

Does preload come into play since mine are not adjustable?

No oiler hole in any of them. The ball end rods are currently over the exhaust and the others over the intake. I pulled the other side and there are the non ball type over the exhaust.
