yes, it appears to be a tight fit and I too wouldn't weld, or in my case, I'm going to do what Neil did, bolt it in, but still want it centered perfectly;)

these pictures are from the 66 dart, the 69 barracuda is the same. the transmission mount is way shorter, so before I order one, I will have to take it out of the 69 barracuda (its just easier to get to) put it in the 65 and see if the cross member goes in with no problems

If you can cut and weld, go after it. It's not that bad. Currently doing a ground up on a 66 Barracuda. It's getting floor pans, trunk/tire well, quater panels, front fender corners and other various patches. The Dart would be worth the work.
