Realistically it probably doesn't make a difference. I like to have them in because it means the LCA torsion bar socket is going to be located exactly like it will be when the car is on the road. But it's pretty unlikely the torsion bar will move it much, because they won't slide in if they do...

How many of the people you're in traffic with do you guess might know you're doing something other than stickin' your hand out the window? Legal, maybe, but it sure does raise the likelihood of getting hit. Me, I'd rather put whatever effort it takes into making sure my lights and signals work...

It was advertised as a 73. Confirmed the measurements for a 73 spindle. Has me at a loss as to what could chew a groove that deep. If it can't be seen, there is a deep lip on both sides.

got more done. Side markers in, and i effed up, nicked the paint.. Got headliner in too. Took way too long to figure out where dome light wire connected. In the trunk? Jeez.

Ok, I replied in your other thread. In the future it's usually easier to keep your questions that are on the same topic in the same thread, because I wouldn't have seen the new thread until you replied to this one. The pins look the same regardless of year. They will all be the same length, so that doesn't help. If the threaded section is a different thread size/pitch that will be almost impossible to tell in a picture. You will need to measure the size/pitch of the threads for both the caliper brackets...

Thanks. I knew the torsion bars didn't need to influence things.

Are those '70-72 E-body spindles? Because if they are, using the 73+ inner wheel bearing will do that. The bearing has a larger inner diameter so loading the bearing pushes the seal against the spindle and backing plate.

Giving it some more thought... probably the seal chewing at it ...

Totally agree, "jouncing" the car to settle the suspension doesn't work effectively. The camber and toe changes with travel, when you jack the car up and lower it the tires make contact with the ground with the suspension fully extended. Then the friction from the contact patch of the tires...

Hi again FABO. Having trouble assembling a pair of pin style calipers reported by seller from a 73 Challenger. The pins I have look the same as for a 70-72 caliper not 73. The pins I have are 5 1/4 inches long and will not screw into caliper mounting bracket. Can anyone tell me what's wrong...
