Any idea where I can find a spindle for my 1970 plymouth duster

Any idea where I can find a spindle for my 1970 plymouth duster

It would appear that some FABO members are confused as to what you actually want. Well maybe just one, lol. But, Have you already taken the caliper off to verify that it is NOT the guilty culprit? The reason I ask is cuz in 50 years I have never seen a seized spindle-bearing, whereas I have seen...

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

So, in this scenario, what displacement class did you want to drive? AA/BFALT?

Fun at the Dover Drags Weekend at Lebanon Valley Dragway.....then not so fun!

Yep !!! same thing happened to me at the now gone Atco Raceway a few years ago my starter broke and got stuck on the converter ring gear, second broken starter in a few years. I put a new super duty starter in since and have had no problems

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

Exactly. It opens the car up to many different classes without having different engine programs.

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

Especially since bottom power ain't much of a concern.

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

I guess a good thing about pulling plugs easier to move up a class.

If you think about it, max heads, even trick flows, are still smaller than the big port chevy head used on the 375 hp 396. I would think a maxwedge port head would work fine on a 371 on the salt. N/A or boosted.

You guys are making me want to fix a bird, lately I have been making rotisserie chicken. Wife bought me a cheap one from Walmart, it was like $35 and uses charcoal. When she gave it to me I thought it would be a cheap pos, but it actually works great. I stuff 1lb of hot sausage up the chickens...

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

I only mention it as it is what I have. Not sure the best way to lower the displacement, pull a plug wire off or what. Offset grinding a crank to use BBC rods is intriguing. Or just run 373-439ci and up the game. It is a lower record that, in theory, should be easier to obtain. I ask about...

He could do a tall deck, stroked 440 at 496 with MW heads and pull two plug wires for 372.

    3.91s in my 340 now!

I would still do a compression test, they hardly ever lie.

If my bad math is right that is installed per card at 108.5. You might want to put it in a bit ahead of that like 103-105 with a lower compression short block. JMO Depending on over the nose spring pressure, it might be on the brink of a stock stamped style rocker arm breaker.

Any idea where I can find a spindle for my 1970 plymouth duster

Still not a reproduced spindle. You need a ball joint adaptor to keep your UCA’s, and then you would need the rest of the 73+ Mopar disk brake set up with the option for SBP drilled on the hub because the SSBC stuff wouldn’t fit anymore. Further, just because you have the 73+ kit with the SBP...

Sunday's Final Bracket Points Race LVMS

Congrats ! and I hope the knee rehab goes well !! I and several other racers have been racing high ten second cars slowed down to run 11.50 in Sportsman for years. I Won the Sportsman track championship in 2013 running my Dart that way. It is perfectly legal as long as the method of slowing the...

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

Part of the problem would be finding an intake for max heads on a 383. Indy is the only one I know of. The 413 and 426 maxwedges both had bore notches for the 1.88 exhaust valve. (4.187 and 4.25 bores. ). The aftermarket heads, even with maxwedge ports, have a smaller exhaust valve, so a 383...

Man I’m seeing this now, a year later. I knew Ed for a long time, from the bigblockdart message board. First met him when I Bought some stuff from him back probably 2003. Hurricane Helene

It is amazing just how Americans step up in times of natural disasters. Many hundreds of boats hauled to Houston with the Harvey flood. To rescue people. Citizens got it done. I watched from the 5 th floor of a hospital, flood waters 100 years away, waiting to be off generators to get a triple...

That's not the gear ratio. That's the measuring distance to set the pinion depth. The gear ratio is marked on the ring gear. 39-11 = 3.55. It's not an AAR chunk......and even if it was, there's no way to tell, so it wouldn't be worth any more than any other cone style sure grip. Looks clean, though.

It’s just normal for people to phrase it the way you did. The “push down” ends up happening at the same time. If that makes sense now.
