Pivot ball bracket for a ‘68 Dart

I'm Cummins swapping a '74 Duster, thought I'd share the progress.

This isn't a bad idea, AND it would be a hell of a lot less work, find a diesal 94ish reg cab Ram truck preferably 2wdr, shorten the frame as needed and everything power train wise bolts right up, fit the body and voila! You have essentially what you want for a reasonable investment. Worth a think

    Camshaft Thrust Plate

There is this style used on asian OHC's, I think this is a Hyundai/Kia, but You get the idea. They aren't subjected to any real thrust loading, but do locate the cams well, just; 1) Machine recess in block for plate 2) Cut the receiver groove precisely in the cam journal.

Pivot ball bracket for a ‘68 Dart

The pivot ball is bolted to the bracket through the inner fender.. just the bracket needs to be welded to the frame rail

    Engine Install from the Side

Did that pulling the 170 straight 6 and installing a 289 v8 in a 63 Econoline. The last time pulling the 289 I raised the front of the van and dropped the engine and trans out the bottom.

    Quarter vent/window disassembly - A body hardtop

Hi, does anyone have photos, instructions, workshop manual info, or links to a video of the process involved in disassembling the quarter vent window assembly? I have the glass and seal out, its just everything else. I can see it is riveted in places, but before i start going in blind, it...

You know, if you are hellbent on seeing this through, putting a duster body on the frame of a diesel vehicle would be the safer way to do it

Now that would be a waste of a good trailduster...and I still need one to build as a plow rig

Pivot ball bracket for a ‘68 Dart

I bolted an entire frame for a pickup truck together and pulled it 30 miles to a friend's house to be welded. You can do the same thing. Also you can probably drive the distance with minimal number of clutch engagements.

Or a group with a dozen people living under 1 roof. Occupancy numbers on a contract will help with that.

High enough? Around this area the drug dealers have a lot more money than the average working class family....

Turbo cars never cease to amaze me, especially this one. It (was) a basic 360 with manifolds. Low buck build up, heavy car. 9 seconds. Different combo now but when it was a turbo small block it was super impressive. Anyway, I really don't get the point of what you're doing. If you answered me...

Thank you very much, it seems you understand what I'm trying to do! I'll post updated pictures and videos whenever I can. Currently working full time with a significant amount of over time so I'm filming and working on the car when I can.

Pivot ball bracket for a ‘68 Dart

So I completed my 4spd swap in my 68 Dart. I plan on making a post about that separate of this but.. could I make a 20ish mile drive before it gets welded on to the rail? It’s a diaphragm McLoed rated for 400hp so it’s not a super heavy duty clutch.. I just need to transport it from a friends...

I had the quick Crete once, used kitty litter in all the heat ducts, once, - pot grow, (didn't complain, I'd grown it there when I lived there), doors kicked in, attic filled with garbage, dead cars left behind. I kept saying "they" ain't gonna win . They didn't. I'm very much farther ahead...

Ok, I'll throw my hat in the ring here, Daniel, I say go for it, it's your car, it's not rare, you thought it threw the best you can, sure conceptually it's not a good idea, and yes you should probably just put the body on a tube chassis AND you may just end up doing that to hold it all...
