Could be pre ignition or detonation, what’s the timing at or fuel your using?

If you want a definitive answer, take a look at what the factory did with all the high horse power big block four speed cars. Dana 60.

I have a set of New BRC 4.030" forged flat top pistons and pins for a 3.79" stroke small block crankshaft. Compression height is ~ 1.57" and the ring lands are 1/16, 1/16 and 3/16. Pins are 0.984”. Approximately 6cc valve reliefs. These pistons can be used in aftermarket race blocks or stock...

Too bad but at least you have an 111 wheelbase A body instead of a 108 to make working with the driveshaft angle a little easier

Gear Vendors requires an E/B body main shaft, therefore their specific adapter. GV does not make a shorter A body specific adapter unfortunately.

the trim correct most people remove them for now it will stay. The 340 I got off another member pretty cheap with 727. The seats are in great shape and the body I’ll leave as is but make drive train will all be redone. Want it to have that ratty look for now and not worry about door dings and...

Very cool car. Congrats. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Not sure what your plans for the body are, but, as a 68 GT owner myself, i would suggest leaving the side trim on the car. If you look around, most 68's are stripped of their chrome. Both look good but the original is getting hard to see...

The 273, 318, and 340 engine gaskets are interchangeable.

They were custom pistons that had the wrist pin holes drilled. The block was the original one.
