Help me buy an $80,000 car

Are you talking about the original 318? I'd rather have a 440. I wouldn't spend 80k for ANY car with a 318 in it. Well, maybe a Dual Ghia or something......

Engine pictures... The engine/ trans are correct for the car, but the engine is seized and the trans isn't in good condition. They are also not numbers matching (I'm all about correctness and hopefully numbers matching about my cars, if possible), so I sold the engine. Note the second horn that...

To break down the data about this car, it is a very basic car with not too many options. The only options it came with were: High Impact paint, 225 slant 6, 1 bbl carb, matched automatic transmission on the column, rear bumper guards, AM radio, power steering, cigar lighter, and trunk light...

    Anybody use clutch tamer

How much pressure in the pressure plate? That’s one thing about a diaphragm clutch in that I don’t know how you reduce plate load with changing the entire diaphragm spring. A B&B cover you can take apart and change springs really easily. Or you can just take them out. I’ve had 12 spring...

Important note: This story is not really about a "restoration", the plan is only to get this car bare-bones, minimally road worthy and then drive it locally. Hi All, I originally had this car for sale, but decided to keep it and work on it. I originally found it advertised on the internet from...

    Idle Transfer Slot on secondaries?

That’s what I did, put a screw in with a bigger head so I could mark it. Square the front, then adjust the secondaries to get the idle where you want it. I also have the butterflies drilled, but my cam is more radical than his.

Pucks sir. In my experience you could tell when the material is starting to get hot because the clutch turns into a chattering light switch LOL. That is usually my cue to give things a cool down. 3 seasons on 150-175 Monte Smith plate kit + street driving all summer. I had two really abuse...

Looking for an engine builder in central PA (York area).

I've had an 340 at a shop for almost 5 years. The first four years where while I was going through the car but I thought I'd give the shop time to work it in to their schedule. Last fall I told them I needed the motor by the end of the year (2023), and I'm still waiting. Block is machined and...

Sintered bronze on both sides works. You simply overheated it. I see signs of material transfer at inspection every season. It's never been that bad. I run bias plys fwiw.
