What Engine Is This?

Slitting hairs again .
The question was what is this engine . I would presume he asked because it was built in 66 but 318s didn’t come out until the 1967 model year .
The answer is it’s a 318 built in 66 for 67 models.
Simple enough ….

That is funny. It feels like you're intentionally baiting me since it is not "Slitting hairs", The term you are using is actually called Splitting hairs.

You seemed to miss that the first time around. Did I misinterpret that or are you now acting as if you understood it from the beginning?

I meant “Spitting hairs “. Lol
That was a fat finger .
I have better things to do than debate such a trivial topic .

The engine was produced in 1966 and it’s a 318 . End of story . Im sure the OP is disgusted by now .

We will have to find another dead horse to beat .

Who cares? It's an LA 318. It's early enough though that it has a steel crank and the cool much lighter rods.

Jeebuzz.... & '67 Models were being built in August of '66 for showrooms & stock deliveries, it's an early LA 'teener with light rods, forged crank, & adjustable rockers....congrats on the find OP.

No adjustable rockers on 318s. That was a early 273 thing

Ahh, You're correct, I keep thinking since '67 was the last year for mechanicals in the 273's that were also in the 1st year LA-'teeners.....but they went straight to hydraulics....
