[WANTED] Wanted: Carter 4933 Carburetor (Rebuildable or Working)

I initially thought about going the Edelbrock route, but was worried it would still hit the intake manifold. Sounds like it should clear since it's basically the same body/dimensions as the old Carter?

What's the best way to fix aluminum intake threaded hole for temp gauge sending unit?

I made a purchase of an Edelbrock LD340 intake before I went to Carlisle and saw I did pretty good on the price I paid compared to what they were asking at Carlisle. The one I bought was advertised as unmodified and it pretty much isn't. What is modified is the threaded hole for the temp sending...

I’m not going to say it’s easy but it sure isn’t as hard as it used to be. If you would have told me 25 years ago we would be making over 600 horsepower with Edelbrock or Speedmaster type of heads I probably would have thought you were lying.

1987 318 Tuning with Summit Carb

Hang on a second…are you sure a 600 CFM carb has a .046 idle feed restriction?? What size is the idle air bleed? I’m saying that’s a huge jet for that size of carb. Crazy huge. I start at .029 ifr and a .070 air bleed. If that’s the size it is, imho you’re going to need to drop the ifr way...

    6 Pack Issues

One other thing I have been doing over the years is to run the Edelbrock intake gaskets that block the heat crossover on the heads. I’m now running Edelbrock heads without the heat crossover. Takes a little longer to warm up and idle but in the hot weather it helps a lot. Looks like you have...

    340 head, intake advice please

Nevermind. I'm stupid. You were talking about the intake ports. Yeah, it's a bit of a mismatch, but Chrysler did it with millions of 318 four barrel engines. They used the large port intake on the small port head. Opposite of what you're doing, but still, they must notta thought much about it...

    340 head, intake advice please

Recently picked up an unfinished car. 73 340, .040. 3418915 heads. Edelbrock performer intake. Aside from the obvious difference in intake manifold, head port sizes, will this seal up without any leaks? Not concerned with performance at the moment. Would like to get the car running and driving...

    F**K YOU TAIWANESE/CHINESE MADE JUNK

This thermostat is not that type, taking a smidge off the edge will be fine. Also I may cut the recess a little bit bigger which is not a hard job to do, but it so sure does suck when I have to fix new parts. Maybe with lots of RTV lol. It's really bad, that why I'm replacing it. Edelbrock...

    Intake distribution issues

I am running full length Hedmans with full 2.5 exhaust out to the rear end. And a 904 with 3500 Stall and 4.30s out back. Question though if I was pulling air would I not be getting weird afr readings with the air leak? As for now with the spacers my afr will float from 13.5 to 13.8 cruising...

    Intake distribution issues

My guess is that atmospheric air is getting into your headers, right at the header flanges. > you didn't mention your exhaust, but I gotta assume yur running headers. My 276/286/110 cam (230/237), has 61 degrees of overlap. I suppose that yours has about the same. The job of the headers is to...
