W2 dual pattern head header options

Alright I'll give him a ring thanks. Street/strip 390c.i., ~9.5:1cr, havent picked a cam out yet but it will be a full roller setup looking around .580-.6 lift w/ nothing to radical for duration, w2 heads ported to the mopar perf. templates, w2 holley dominator intake, holley hp650 carb, 833...

W2 dual pattern head header options

Seeing that tti makes good quality w2 headers that fit my car why would you go through all that trouble. My only real question is if anyone had success using the standard LA flange on these heads without a big performance loss?

W2 dual pattern head header options

So I picked up a set of W2 heads pn#p4532693 for my 71' Demon that have the exhaust bolt pattern holes for both the standard small block exhaust and the W2 pattern. I see TTI sells a nice header for the A-body with the W2 flange but I hadn't heard if anyone had any issues with just using the...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

Yeah it has a hv oil pump and windage tray and scraper and the crank has been knife edged it also has most of the standard road race oil mods. You sure on the cam spec? I had a 280 advert duration cam in it before and it only pulled to about 6k before it fell flat. I've played quite a bit with...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

From everything I'm told about getting more rpm out of an engine I always hear not to increase the stroke because the longer the stroke the faster the relative piston speed which is harder on parts. Is this not true?

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

Most of the sb2 are the standard stroke so there 358ci. One thing most people have a hard time understanding with road racing is that on a technical track like road Atlanta your not just running around with your foot on the floor. Its not drag racing you must have an engine that will at least...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I mainly race road atlanta but also have been to roebling road, sebring and vir. At any road coarse your going to see those rpms all the time as you go from slow sections to the high speed sections. Dont equate high rpm with high speed at some tracks you may go down to first and hold it through...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

The top 5 guys in my class all run sb2 setups that regular rev to 10k and sit most of the race between 6500-8500. One of the guys showed me his data logger where he hit 10700 at one part of the track almost everytime and that was a 25 lap race. I know what it takes to get rpm out of an engine...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I do appreciate the help and like I said i am willing to invest some money to make this happen but if no one has any proven setups i'm going to have to go to something I know will hold up. I can afford to invest 7 to 8k in an engine that may just blow up. When I know i can can build an ls or sb2...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I put my budget at 7k mainly because if im going to spend any more than that I'll just go lsx motor, but id love to keep it mopar powered. I guess mopar powered road race cars are not that common. I know of nobody doing it in my race circles. I guess what I was looking for someone here which a...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I guess this is super secret squirrel stuff cause it seems anybody with real experience with a screamer isnt sharing and I respect that. I guess I may have to go the sb2 route or the ls route.

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I agree I dont have enough head but I'm not really worried about my current setup but rather I'm interest to know if anyone has any proven small block setups that will turn some rpms and not come apart.

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I mainly run Road Atlanta but I also run Roebling road and sebring. I have a winters rear end with gears from 2.70 to 4.88 and about every combo in between. My trans has a final ratio of 1:1. At road atlanta I can get up to about 135mph with this car and my ex winston cup car around 180mph...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I'm running a tilton 7.25" 3 disk clutch and a tex racing T101a 4 speed which is standard Nascar stuff so it should hold up.

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

Well I have found so far that the higher you can rev the engine road racing the less you have to shift. So to put it in perspective when I run road Atlanta there are 3 spots that if I could rev about 1k higher than my 6700 rev line I would totally eliminate a shift. My budget is ~7k and I have...

What is a good combo for turning high rpm?

I wanting to build a high rpm small block this winter for some scca road racing I've been doing over the past year. Anybody have any good proven engine combos that will turn to around 8k and be reliable? Or am I asking to much.

    Mysterious problem

Ok I solved the problem. 4 of my lifters must have been sort of bad, basically they must be bleeding down real fast. So when I set the lash i was actually plunging down on those lifters while the rest were very firm to the point that I couldnt get them to plung down. So when I started it up they...

    Mysterious problem

Yup i got the new push rods and the geometry is right on. I know the rocker are in no way hitting the spring retainer. I can see plenty of clearance around them. I guess when I get home tonight I try putting the stock rockers back on. One step forward two strps back.:angry7:
