    What is this tool thread?

Honestly I'm stumped myself. It definitely measures something because as you turn the knob the pointer moves, but my thought is why is there so much tool if the measurement is in that one spot? Also looks like a harmonic balancer puller?

    What is this tool thread?

I have shown these pictures to so many people and everyone suspects it's a micrometer of some kind but there's so much more tool than the small measuring piece. Also thought it looked a little like a ring land cleaner but it's not one of those either. Picked it up in a pile of engine tools...

    Getting a similar Shop Manual

So I do actually have a general 1967 manual for all cars, it is sometimes not the most helpful. For example I was curious one day and wanted to know how to replace a rear main seal and it said “you should replace the rear main seal as one does”. Lol

    1972 dart 318 problem starting

Joe, my guess is the same as this. So with a mechanical fuel pump, cranking the motor is how it works (when the motor is off). If your car sits for any more than a day or 2, the gas likely evaporated from the carb. That means you gotta crank it and crank it for the fuel to pump into the carb and...

    Getting a similar Shop Manual

This is a great website thank you! similar to what 4spdragtop was saying I also see a second 1967 manual labeled "supplement" making up for the fact that they forgot the 67 barracuda which is exactly the information I was after. You guys rock!

    Getting a similar Shop Manual

Hello all again. Coming at you guys with another questionably dumb question. So I have a 67 barracuda and I'm wanting the (you should definitely have this) shop manual for it. However, the 1967 shop manual lists several non-barracuda cars for 67, and a barracuda under the 1966 section (unsure...

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

I got a dumb question… say I get some flow numbers on whatever heads I end up with, 360 aluminum, ported 318… etc. what would getting a less aggressive cam actually do. I mean sure it’ll raise manifold vacuum since the one I have now only gets 10-12. It’ll idle smoother sure, sound probably...

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

From what I know, take that what it's worth... should be from the 2658920 head casting number. The 920 obviously the last 3 digits seems to have come from 67 and works with 273 and 318 LA motors. On the other hand for me I have 675 heads which is the 2843675 casting number fitting 318's from...

I know I heard about it! I wanted to go badly but I flew back into town after a week away at midnight the night prior and had something at 10am which I dragged myself to. I appreciate the heads up though. that's the kind of stuff I'd love to attend in the future!

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

Yea even with just this question I've learned more. it's such a good source of information. And once you get to a certain level of depth, some questions just cannot be answered by looking something up, which is why I decided to make an account here for my super specific questions lol. But I'm...

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

Yea the 107 centerline advances it about 5* but to err on the side of keeping this as good as it can for what I actually have, I was going to look at advancing it several degrees more. obviously a newer cam would be the ultimate answer. But yes determining what converter I have and what I need...

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

Thanks for all of the information! This is a lot for me to chew on, I'll definitely take this to learn some more. Seems there's some agreeing and disagreeing with this but I'm absorbing it all and will keep this in mind when making some parts decisions in the future!

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

I definitely recognize the cam isn't what it should be. Having read all the information in the last few posts i'm definitely still learning about why all of that is. But I'm approaching this backwards to try set up the engine so the cam is leveraged best, but the best way is to set everything...

Appreciate the input 318WR. Great videos BTW, seen several of them and always learn something!

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

That's what I was thinking! so even at 66 cc's the 63 would actually raise compression. I did some quick math on the standard 318 cylinder volume vs the quoted 63 cc combustion chamber and the math works out to around 10.3:1...ish

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

I agree it's too big, I'm hoping to combat that with better air flow that crams more air into the cylinder since the intake valve doesn't close until 44* ABDC. But I'm just trying to make some solutions with out swapping the cam completely. personally I think a 340 or 360 intake with 360 heads...

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

Thanks for the input. Also forgot to mention I have 675 heads on now. Was going to do a port job on those and still might to just clean up some edges but will likely try and use those for a future stock build. (and so the mopar hoarding begins) lol.

    360 Aftermarket Heads on 318

So I've seen some discussion on various forums about stock 360 heads destroying compression on a 318 because of the combustion chamber size being closer to 74-76 ish... instead of the stock 318 size which I have found, from research, to be anywhere between 60-66 cc's. This can of course be...

Much appreciated. I know Stafford, that's at least a drivable location! (well at certain times of day). Furthest I've taken it from Centreville though is only down to springfield.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and great info, I guess that just means I'll be pleased with what ever I find. You think it might be worth investing in an 8 3/4 rear end? currently has a 7 1/4 which we all know can be... well you know.

In centreville actually, but close enough. But you seem to have caught on to the fact that it has the front end of a '68. It's more of a 67.5. Tail end is the same. (I'm having issues with the file extension of the picture I have of the front. Will get it up eventually)

funny enough I was going to look at the trans pan today to see what kind it was but had to run to work, hoping for a 727. But it's a 318 motor, stamped 1970 on the block so obviously a swap, 340 intake, 318 heads (unported), edelbrock cam meant for a 340-360 so that's an interesting choice of...

Hey everyone, I just made an account today after reading FABO threads to answer all the various dumb questions I've had for almost a year. I have a 67 Barracuda that I bought from my wifes grandpa to keep it in the fam. I'm slowly learning more about it, at some point had a 318 put in it, stock...
