    Stock 340 dyno tests?

Does anyone know for sure if NHRA had a dedicated dyno facility and where it was located? I just wonder if they had/have something like NASCAR.

440source Stealth head review and flow numbers

While it is true that we have done extensive testing on the Stealth and Super Stealth heads, like 10 years ago, we no longer offer any porting services. So I think we will just be silent and allow the current tests by others speak for themselves.

    Stock 340 dyno tests?

I know what a non-stock 340 can do. So what. I watched the dyno needle go over 600 horsepower with Dad's T/A blocked 357ci/340 back in the NASCAR 1970's. But it sure wasn't factory stock as Cale Yarborough couldn't pass it on the back straight at Riverside. I've seen one person reference a...

Seems like there are a lot of opinions and very few facts on stock 340 horse power.

    Stock 340 dyno tests?

I haven't driven a stock 340 since 1969 so it's difficult for me to remember just how fast the '69 Dart really was. Today I began some searches for some stock 340 dyno tests. Here are two I hope that may shed some light on the 340 output. #1stock to modified Note how #2 was built to stock...

Any advice on my 440 recipe?

Anybody ever drive a Dart with a 340 that made 340 lb-ft @ 3,200 rpm and 275 HP @ 5,000 rpm? Ah no fun there right?

Any advice on my 440 recipe?

I have a question. Would a 7.5:1 compression 440 that made 427 lb-ft @ 2,500 rpm and 287 hp @ 4,400 rpm be any fun in a Dart with a 2,500 stall converter using 3.73 gears and 275/60/15 tires? I think (just my BS talking) what he has on the drawing board will make more than that.

    906 flow

I never saw any of Eric's videos until this morning. Interesting results on the 906 CNC 2.14//1.81, the 902 hand ported 2.25/1.81, the hand ported 452 (with 2.055/1.60 valves?), must have left Chevy valves on the parts list 'cause the 452 valves should be 2.08/1.74 stock. On a 8.9:1 440 with...

    Only 460hp

As far as I know the owner never has put it on the strip. Lots of street racing. What I do know is, that every time I opened up the cross sectional area of the intake port on the cylinder head, the power went up on the dyno. So it appears to me the header wasn't the bottleneck to that point...

    Only 460hp

When I installed the RHS-X heads that flowed in excess of 300 cfm was it the 1-5/8 x 1-3/4 TTI headers that limited the 424ci/360 to 620+ HP?

The 1-5/8 x 1-3/4 TTI step headers? Have you ever personally used those headers?

how much cam with performer rpm heads?

Physically able to handle........I've run as much as .815" with the stock exhaust valves and guides......using seals, springs, retainers and locks for the big roller cam. I don't think they'll flow too good up there without some porting. But.....I don't recollect ever tesing the stock OOTB...

    Engine Build For 1970 Duster

Man good going. You have been making 400 HP 360 recommendations for 18 years. I just came from a post in 2004 where you were doing the same thing. MOPAR CHAT, 03-05-2004, around 11:00 AM I believe.

Gotta say I just build what I want to build without input from anyone. I don't design engines for anyone and just report how I build mine. I don't tell anyone else what they need. Have iron headed 360 based pump gas engines from 7.5:1 to 11.3:1 that make 260-620 horsepower normally aspirated...

Cody's 440....RRR is off the hook.

So after a year or two of running his cheapo <8:1 compression 440 he likes it so much the stroker engine is abandoned and the 440 stays.

    Compression Ratio

Yeah, i had to think back many years. Same intake and carburetor as the 360, stock compression ratio 318 bottom end, mildly ported 360 heads, 273 adjustable rocker arms and a Comp Cams 270S solid flat tappet camshaft. Sounded like a big block when we opened the headers.

    Bolt on timing chain tensioner

I put the tensioners on roller chains. It has been my experience that the links do wear into the shoe until the rollers contact the tensioner and then the shoe wear stops. I'm happy with that as I've never had a tensioner fail. I too believe it was not designed to be run with a roller timing...

    Bolt on timing chain tensioner

It would seen to me that "That side is always tight.".......only if the engine is running backwards. I've installed a few of them.
