    68 Dart turn signal switch

My recommendation. If it works properly, clean off the old grease, re-lubricate it with new lithium grease and keep it. Very few out there as good as the original.

Hey cudamark, I saw on their website that they can cut glass as they have a lot of the patterns. Have you been in contact with them? I saw this on their website. I must say I had a good experience dealing with them myself. Good pricing , great product, shipped on time and very, very well...

Thinking about a dash light upgrade. Your thoughts?

My 2 cents... I have done this upgrade and fooled with it a lot until I got it the result I wanted. 1. All headlight dimmer switches are not alike . Some dim more or less than others. The one I found that worked properly , I got from Nappa. 2. Be sure to clean the blue hoods that the...

68 Barracuda Formula S 340 missing trim tag and Vin / dash

So you are saying you have a decoder for the body stamping numbers/letters? I have seen vin decoders and data plate decoders but never a body stamp decoder. Would you happen to have a link to that information? As I stated in my post, I was just guessing but I still think someone pulled a...

68 Barracuda Formula S 340 missing trim tag and Vin / dash

Best guess.. The last six numbers are the build sequence numbers, and as stated before , the plant code is Hamtramck and the engine code b, is for a 6 cyl engine. I dont see any way to properly decode this car without the original dash and fender tag. If he doesnt have those, the car will have...

68 Barracuda Formula S 340 missing trim tag and Vin / dash

Hey Steve, If this is the b you are referencing, and, if it was part of the vin, it would be the fifth digit and would indicate a 6 cyl engine. Which would make sense with the rear valence without cutouts as a 6cyl would come with.

The seventh stamping, B , is the assembly plant. In this case, Hamtramck, Michigan.

New OER turn signal switch problem

I'm thinking that switch is made for a console shift car that wouldn't need the illumination bulb for the gear select indicator.

Can you post pics of what you have? If you have a complete metal dash frame , its not nearly as hard and as expensive as you may think. Here's what the metal frame should look like. (this is my dash before reassembly ) Here is my dash, assembled and ready to install. Let me know...

If the car only had one owner and the status is current, He still legally owns the car with that vin # . Its good you have contacts with the DMV. You are going to need help with this one I think.

Did you transfer the car ownership to your name yet? Not sure exactly how it works in your State but, here in Canada, it's illegal to remove the vin from the vehicle. Plus, if I have the original dash with the original vin attached with the unmolested security rivets and I have the current...

    Forged 340 Crank in a 5.9 Magnum

I have a A-833 4-speed on my 408 Magnum Stroker. I didn't need to do any crank modifications, just used the roller pilot bearing you mentioned. But, I seem to recall when talking to Brewers that they mentioned to check the crank to make sure it was drilled deep enough for the input shaft of the...

    Forged 340 Crank in a 5.9 Magnum

Doesn't the 5.9 Magnum cast crank have to be machined to accept the input shaft of the A-833 4-speed? I know there is a roller pilot bearing sold to use for this conversion as I bought one from Brewers. If not, I thought you had to trim the input shaft of the transmission approx 1/2 " to fit...

Agreed. I wish I had the opportunity to do exactly that but, unfortunately, no facilities in my area available to do it. My main reason for posting was to share experiences with the stock equipment and some of what I think should be checked on a 57 year old car if you want to ensure a safe...
