1990 360 engine, trying to retrofit it to use a mechanical fuel pump.

Don't clean it. They have a coating, can't remember what, that makes it look nasty, but it needs to be thete to help prevent friction wear.

    Gas Line

Mine was already cut from when I installed the electric fuel pump. I started by disconnecting the line on the fuel pump side. For more access I removed the alternator. Then I pulled the line from all the clips. After that, I just grabbed the line and started pulling. It came out a little...

    Gas Line

@nodemon , your thread reminded me I had a replacement fuel line in the corner waiting on me to install it and I didn't have anything else to do today. I bought the line about a year and a half ago when I also bought a cam snout extension to get rid of the electric fuel on my Magnum. I did the...

    Magnum vs LA compatibility

@Bobzilla. Explained everything expertly. I used a 1970 timing cover that has provision for mechanical fuel pump and has the timing marks on the passenger side (not that it's easy to see with the LA power steering pump, lol). I started with an electric fuel pump but discovered my autistic...

    Magnum vs LA compatibility

...and you can put the LA front end on the Magnum. I wanted my 5.9 to look as much like an LA as possible so I used my LA timing cover, water pump, v-belt pulleys, and fan.

Anyone Running the Oregon #1341 Regrind?

@RustyRatRod recommended the Oregon Cam Grinding 1280 for my build. 2001 5.9, stock bottom end, Edelbrock 2.02 heads, Air Gap, Doug's headers, 3:23's and a 904 with PTC 9.5 converter. Cam specs: .215/.223 @.050. .517/.539 using 1.6 rockers, on 110. Not too far from the #1341. Pulls hard...

    cleaning a toilet help needed!

Nice work...but don't give up so quickly. Lol. If it were me, I'd pull out all the water. Then coat it in Spartan SparCream, let it sit, then use the pumice stone again. Use a soft scrub type of chemical in place of SparCream. Don't give up yet!!!!!!

    Which Water pump?

I'm a fan of FlowKooler after I had some cooling concerns. In repeated stop and go traffic in the summer, my 5.9 Magnum would creep up to 220⁰. Not terrible but when I pulled the front end (v-belt) to install a cam snout extension, I went with a FlowKooler. Now it stays at 180⁰ no problem...

The great thing is...no robot will take the place of a janitor!! Thank you for saying what I tell my team often - let the customer go three days without you and see if the phone rings!! (I run the janitorial/ custodial contract on Hurlburt Field Air Force Base, cleaning 231 buildings) This...

    Dead in the water

First time pulling the instrument panel on my 66 Barracuda I failed to disconnect the battery. As I'm pulling the instrument panel, the back of the ignition switch touches the dash, I hear a quick arc --- there went the fusible link. I replaced the fusible link with an inline weatherproof...

Who Knows A Lot About Home Security Cameras for The Driveway? Recommendations.

We went with Arlo when we lived in Georgia. Bought two camers; mounted one over the front door and one looking over the driveway. They are rechargeable and depending on how much it comes on is how often you have to recharge. To recharge, I looped the extension cord around the camera and...

Hopefully, we're in our forever home and won't have to do it again. Job brought me to Florida and we're getting our backyard done so we can enjoy it next summer without a lot of work. It's nice to be outside though. Had to take a break to check the college football scores!!
