Trying for hours now... 65 Valiant left exhaust manifold problem

You can loosen the drivers side motor mount, the one nut underneath the car, and gently jack the motor up just enough to slip the manifold out. Use a block of wood between the oil pan and a jack.

    340 exhaust manifold

Hello, all, I'm looking to put a 340 from an e-body into a 73 swinger. Will the high-flow exhaust manifolds that came on the original 70 Challenger 340 fit without hitting anything or creating a problem with running the pipes? Passenger side # 2863549 Driver side # is unknown but it looks just...

340 exhaust manifold vs stock 318

Not mentioned here so far, but the 68-70 340 drivers manifold is also better than the later 340-360. If you look at them side by side the 68-70 is quite a bit taller. They do however, have the same exhaust hole size.

    Dakota manifolds for A body

440randy Dakota pickup and full size pickup magnum manifolds are I believe the same part number. Again you need to check the search function on the site. I believe there was an issue on 67-76 A body power steering cars with clearance. I dont remember 100% as it was several years ago. I believe...

My Personal TTI Full Exhaust Review

I also used the TTI exhaust on my 69 Dart. Quality was great. The drivers side head pipe was a pita to get in. Manifold bolts were hard to get to. Had to cut up a wrench to get the bolts tight. I have a column shifter, and I had to modify the linkage. The only complaint I had, was the head...

    Rarest MoPar I've ever seen

Ive had many RHD A Bodies, currently I have my 1969 Barracuda Convertible which is US built and my 1971 Valiant Charger which is Australian built. Indeed, with the engines scooted over to the (US) passenger side to allow for the Steering Box etc it made space on the RHD cars drivers side very...

Another small block turbo early valiant

I was gonna end up using an original 273 passenger center exit manifold and a mid 90’s Jeep Cherokee manifold. There’s actually about a half inch difference. I’m back to a Dakota header for the drivers side and a Headman block hugger for the passenger side at this point.

I'm a machinist with access to CNC mills and lathes....purely for ascetics I'm going to move the alternator to the drivers side so the AC compressor can sit where the alternator is now..... I'll be making a couple custom brackets. Jeff

I don't think the latter is a bad option. In fact, probably a pretty good one.

Cool! Welcome from Texas!! I saw that your car has a truck manifold on drivers side. Are both sides from same year truck? I wasn't aware those fit an a body.

    273 with 340 exhaust manifolds

I am installing a ATK 360 engine in my ‘65 Barracuda which now has the 273 commando engine. Would you suggest to put a 60’s drivers side manifold and a 360 magnum passenger side on that set up? Will my stock Formula S exhaust pipe bolt up to them? What’s your cost for the pair?

How to stop hot air from engine compartment?

I had that going on in my 66. The lower column seal was gone and dang, that drivers side manifold is pretty close. The column near my knee was hot to the touch.

    1964 Valiant Slant 6 to 318 Conversion ?

Just be sure to make the drivers side exhaust manifold fit while the engine is still out of the car. Much easier to see what is needed. The mount brackets in the link to Jake's ad are factory V8 mounts for a 64-66 A body. I don't know if aftermarket mounts for a 273/318 are produced. Schumaker...

I have a LD4B intake manifold that I received from another member a while back and now I am not going to use it. This manifold is in good shape but the top three or four threads on the drivers side rear carb mounting plate are buggered up both inner and outer, all threads below that are fine...

Horse power drop using early A 273 manifolds

If that's a NOS or original HP head pipe, there were no mandrel bends back then. That design is very efficient. With that restriction it chokes the passenger side down through the pipe like the drivers side does through the manifold. LOL Even the HP 340 manifolds choke down around the steering...

Date code on stock exhaust manifold

If you can not read the date code on the original, there is no way to know what was on it. 'Build' dates were not recorded back then, only the day they hypothetically 'hoped' to start the cars build. That is what is on the fender tag. Small blocks have a final engine assembly date on the...

My 75 Finally Gets The Attention It Deserves(This Could Take a While)

I have a couple of quick questions. First, the drivers side exhaust manifold heat shroud has two small holes in the upper surface that would have been where the inner shield attached. 340 Exhaust Manifolds

    B & E body drivers side manifold won’t work on an A body. 72 - 73 A body 340 manifolds will work fine, and are a little cheaper than 68 - 70 HP 340 manifolds.
