I have developed a system to cut and weld driveshafts without using a lathe. I have never had an imbalance problem or vibration from them. I've lost count of how many I've done. So, yeah, I'll comment based on what I know, not like some who comment based on what they think others know. I've...

As a moderator, maybe you should lobby to remove the "Red "X" so that people can't disagree with bad advice. Anybody can overhaul a TF, but there are more ways to do it wrong than there are ways to do it right. Are you willing to just let bad advice stand? I thought there was some oversight on...

I'm not a licensed businessman. Go have a businessman rebuild your trans, lol.. I build automatics for mostly street racers. If I was I would have to double my prices. Would you feel better then? Then at least from the other guys you'd have a few pieces of paper that you could show off when...

Haha jdog's "rebuilds" worked "perfectly"..all two of 'em, lol....Please keep me on ignore like you promised. I know you are a bullshit poser because your first move was to misnomer parts. That's always a ploy to miscredit anybody who says you're wrong. You use confusion to detract from your...

Notice how no other rebuilder is willing to comment? That's because I'm saying all the things that they wish they had the guts to say to all the stupid questions stupid people ask. Most of you guys want to be treated like you know something about automatics, but a little bit of knowledge is a...

You don't know a thing about the old high stall converters. And all I can do is report what the customer told me. It worked fine with a stock converter...but keep on posting your deep thoughts... You're just another dummy on here with nothing of value to add...like the clown who criticizes me as...

He's not listening because you guys are wrong. If both front and rear yoke angles are down; you'll have a vibration unless the axle is twisted upwards in the front; under acceleration; at which time the yokes would be parallel, but just at a crusiing speed, the yokes are not parallel. Listening?

If you had a problem with one of my builds, it would be YOU who caused it. OTOH, if the builder screwed it up, do you want the SAME CLOWN working on it again?!? So you can R&R it AGAIN; with your fingers crossed? I doubt it. I get rebuilds all the time that are still under somebody else's...

So true, cores are now $50, and I had to raise my price on 727 rebuilds to $750 because Red Eagle prices tripled and my other costs have as well and I'm installing five Red Eagles in 3rd gear in every single one of my $750 rebuilds. And a Kevlar front band and shift upgrades. What are YOU doing...

So what if it was at the bottom of a lake? It's $50 just like I said, but not to worry you're stupid enough to follow jdog's advice and attempt to rebuild it. And there's another one for $50 listed on CL IE. It's been quite a while since I've seen so many worthless ignorant posts in a row, but...

"You don’t have to remove the trans to fix a dirty valve body, but I get your point. But I have rebuilt units with rust on the parts. It just take more time to clean and prep, but it can be done and they will run." EXACTLY.....it's not worth rebuilding because it's going to take more work...

20+ years of "Building 904/727 for drag racing use"

If the problem is in the reverse servo, then possibly yes, if it isn't a double wrap band; those are tougher. But it's probably not a 904 but a 727, which didn't come with a double wrap band; making the servo easier to get to.

I already gave my checks and x's on the driveshaft angle thread. And, Duane, a filter won't stop particles that are already inside the trans passages. Why can't you give a little more thought to your posts? You sound a little too willing to allow people to make mistakes that involve removing the...

I'm always in here encouraging people to rebuild their own, but with caution. I can't take any chances and I don't encourage anybody else to either...because the circle jerk attitude displayed by jpar just doesn't work out too well when you realize that the trans you just "rebuilt" has to come...

I know it might feel like the converter, but it's the clutches slipping. A lot of people ask me how many quarts it's gonna take. I say until it's full. I go 1/2" over the full mark because chrysler tubes don't have a ridge to hold them in an exact location.

    1967 904 Transmission spline

There are a lot of different kickdown arms and variations on the linkage. Start by setting it all the way back when the carb is all the way open. IF it shifts too early or too late, then you have to change the arm. Always start with the arm all the way back at wide open throttle (wot). I...

I'm referring to the kickdown lever on the outside of the trans. It has to be all the way back when the carb is all the way open. If you stray from that adjustment, then the arm will never go all the way back; lowering the pressure to the shift, or the carb won't be allowed to open all the way...

    Fresh 904 start-up

"A low converter would have a higher stall than it should"?!? NO. There's a lot of bad info out there. If there isn't enough fluid to fill the converter, then there surely won't be enough fluid to apply clutches or bands. Run it about 1/2" above full. Just remove the neutral safety switch to...

If you adjust your kd so it's at max when the carb is at max and it requires "fiddling", then you have the wrong arm on the trans. Any other way is wrong information that will cause damage to the trans. We don't "fiddle".. And that just so happens to be one of my favorite jokes. This thread is...

Yes the TF3 is a manual shift kit. If it wasn't shifting until 3k rpm, that's a sign that it wan't installed correctly, because it should go into whichever gear you put it in at any speed. In "D", it should be in 3rd even at a complete stop. Not shifting into 2nd until 3k rpm means it's time to...
