    overheat only over 3000 rpm

once you are at about 30+ mph, the fans are not accomplishing anything except potentially slowing down the air flow through the radiator. So better more powerful fans will not solve your problem. look to one of these other suggestions as a solution. 4 fans is a lot of fans to fit...

    Overheating at idle

The reason you don't overheat while in motion is because your water pump is spinning at a higher speed and building pressure plus even 20mph air is enough to be just as good as any fans you could be using. So you have a potential air flow AND sounds like water pump pressure issue. someone...

    Mufflers like Dynomax

For another option and lifetime warranty, Pypes makes their Race Pro which is the same design at the stainless Ultra-flow. They also make a Turbo-Pro which is the same design as the DM Super Turbo but Pypes is in a welded case and stainless. They also have a couple other mufflers but I...

Like to hear from those who put a 3 in complete exhaust in a Dart (70) .......

Just for the record, the Pypes Race Pro's are the same exact design as the Dynomax Ultra Flow and Magnaflow muffler. Super good design for high horsepower applications that would like to try and keep the sound at least a little bit tame. :p

As an alternative that is easier to install and less expensive, Pypes makes a 3" to 2.5" hybrid system that is optimal for up to 600 HP. 3" X, 3" Race Pro mufflers, 2.5" tailpipes. SMA30R. The system can handle higher HP cars but the HP gains start to become less optimal if you are...

    looking for KKS radiator reviews

Generally, the KKS radiator is one of the better imported Ebay brands. However, the two big issues I have with that brand is 3 row aluminum is not ideal (although it seemed to cool your car fine) and 2. I highly doubt they are going to replace that unit for you after this much time has...

    Eighteen Year Old VOE Mufflers

As far as automotive great ideas that go away and come back, this has to rate up there with the 58 Ford retractable. In today's market, there are literally thousands of cars and trucks driving around with some type of 'push a button-quiet to loud' exhaust. The fact that the idea was put...

    Do Magnaflow's wear out?

Magnaflow mufflers do not have baffles. They have a tube with perforated holes and a lot of 'matting' packed in there for sound deadening. If a piece of the tubing inside broke, it's possible that some of the matting has deteriorated or disintegrated over time. That could account for the...

Has anyone used the Pypes universal 3.5" X pipe system?

In tests that we performed on a 3" X, we got more horse power when running an X pipe and dumps than open headers! However, as you get into higher hp applications, some tests we've read show a declining advantage of the X. If you are running 10.60's, I think you are still in a...

    Catalytic converters

As you can see by all the various qualified but confusing comments, this whole issue is a sh$%t show. By EPA guidelines, if we wanted to create a CARB approved converter to sell in California or NY, we'd have to design it to fit in the same way the original did. That means no welding...

    Catalytic converters

I'm not sure what you mean by 'exempt' but the EPA made it very clear to us that anything newer than 1974 requires a converter that is equal to our better than whatever was on the vehicle originally. I'm referring to the sale of any type of aftermarket catalytic defeat devices....which could be...

    Catalytic converters

I have no idea why I put 'except in California'. :( Well that's embarrassing. I apologize to viewers. I might have been thinking about the original 1967 EPA requirements. ie smog pumps and the grey area of wording that accompanied those initial requirements between then and 1975...

    Catalytic converters

By 1975, all passenger cars by Federal EPA standards, had to have a catalytic converter exhaust system. Since this standard was just being put in place, it's entirely possible that some early production vehicles got some type of special exception? super early production 1975 models? If...

ok, you are from CA and obviously have good experience in that state. The topic starter wants to buy a post 1974 vehicle and is seeking our advice. So if CA is so incredibly emissions conscious and any modification to the catalytic converter is considered 'tampering', is everything controlled...

ok, egg on my face. It is 1974 and prior. but not sure whether the topic starter understands what was right and wrong about my statement. If he is looking at buying a 1974 car, then I gave bad advice. Any other year besides 1974, and my advice is accurate. :) Maybe I blocked those 2...

    Catalytic converters

By 1975, all passenger vehicles would have had a catalytic converter by federal EPA law. That doesn't mean some states allowed vehicles without converters to still be sold. But what is more important is your original question. I'm not aware of any state that can prohibit you from...

    Catalytic converters

We dealt with an EPA audit for a 2 year period while they dissected all of our exhaust products. We paid the nations top emissions lawyers a lot of money to help us during this time. Not to sound like a complete JA but what experience do you have with the EPA with respect to emissions?

    Catalytic converters

If your car is 1973 or older, you do not need to add cats to your car except in California. If your car is 1974 or newer, it all depends on what state you live in as to that states requirements for emmissions but at the same time, federal law prohibits the use of a 1974 and newer vehicle...

    Radiator advice

    Radiator advice

A 22" radiator with a built motor and AC should get the maximum cooling available. That is dual 1 1/4" tubes. All other options fall short. AS I have said in the past, the smaller volume radiators may get the job done, others will say they have had success, but what it runs hot after...

2" to 3" exhaust... Worth it?

Agree! There can be a big difference in cfm with a straight through muffler vs a chambered or turbo type muffler especially if you are racing the car and trying to get every single HP you can possibly get. That being said, for everyone reading, the pipes have a much greater affect on...

    1969 Dart radiator selection

The 440 is a pretty big motor. Probably built up bigger than anything that Mopar had to offer back in the 60's or 70's. So while I do agree that the OEM radiator can get the job done, it is likely pushing 50 years old and you might not want to push that old radiator to it's physical limits...

2" to 3" exhaust... Worth it?

It's not so much the size as the type of bending. Mandrel bent tubing will have significant performance gains. Since it's quite rare to see 2" mandrel bent exhaust, you will be looking at 2.5" for your application. An very common example of a 2" crimp (oem style) bent system...

    Pypes Turbo Pro

Love to have you get a pair of our mufflers but if the Dynomax super turbo's gave you drone, the Pypes super turbo's will give you very similar drone. Internally, they are very much the same design. Things to check: 1. Make sure the exhaust system is insulated from the body of the...
