Jack up the back of the door, bends the door frame to bring it back into alignment after sagging down for 40 years. Want to protect the rocker and door shell and skin. Steel 5' long pry bar and lift it up as needed. Final adjust the striker pin, for smooth closing. ☆☆☆☆☆

Would removing the wheels and loading the control arms with jack stands allow an accurate alignment measurement with the gauge attached to the hubs?

yup plenty of adjustment. problem is finding an alignment shop that knows what they are doing is a lot of areas.

SPC does not have them for A Body. Bergman does not have them for A Body before 1973

I agree, but have had mixed results. A lot depends on the guy who does the alignment. The shop I normally use has a guy that did it for a dealership for many years, but he is as flakey as a $3 bill.

Mine was like that. The expanded metal portion of the column gets smashed pretty easily and throws it out of alignment. I cut the expanded metal out and replaced with some exhaust tubing of the same size.
