73 E body front disc brakes conversion on A body. Where did I mess up?

Not sure if this helps. I did a drum 69' dart from a 70' dart disc brake swap last year and used the lower ball joint from the drum one, but I had to drill out the lower ball joint holes that attach to the disc spindle. I know the K&H is a different set up then what you have but just trying to...

They look like the ones on my 2005 2500 truck, that I replaced last year.

Is it the sticker on the air cleaner????

Back in the day, my next-door neighbor came over and wanted to show me his added high performance parts he put on his Fairlane. He added a chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers, then asked what else he could do to make the car faster?

To Resize Connecting Rods or Not?

In case someone don't know where to look for those stamps, they are at the top of the block below the head on the driver side front. Remember, they are for a stock block and may have been changed after a rebuild. As everyone says here, CHECK, tolerances before closing up a rebuild.

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

Just to add to your comment Rusty, I once had a crack at the upper control arm bracket, attached to the frame that needed welding back on. Diagnose before fixing.

I have a belief, If you learn from the best, you will become the best yourself. I have never dealt with PTC or any other outsource companies for transmissions, but they sound like a solid company to deal with.

    WTF Front Brakes?!?

I have the same calipers on my 72' Dodge B300 Van. Missing are the spring clips or maybe called, anti-rattle clips for the mounting bolts.

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

You can remove it, but I would try to apply a lot of WD40 into the stabilizer bushings and see if the squeak goes away. It looks dry in the photo. I had that issue on my 69 and it worked for me. The same with my control arm bushings.

need recommendations for brake shoes and wheel cylinders

No expert here, but I read once that a bad or incorrect Proportion valve can cause that. Last year I install a 70 dart K/H system in my 69 drum 340 and part of the change was to change the PP valve. I did not and I have no issue with braking, but I do not drive my car in the rain. Also my car...

Low charge to no charge issue pulling hair out

I lot of good ideas here. Some complicated and some not. I always like to try the "NOT" first. I always keep an electric meter in all my vehicles ($10-$20 cheapies). Any issues, the first thing I check is at the battery. If the vehicle is running you should have 14 or a little higher volts at...

    Bad engine miss

Sounds like a lot of work. I hook up a timing light to each wirer and record the flash at each test. No flash, check, wire, plug and cap in that order. To test wire, I remove it and place it at another plug and cap setting, that I know was good to start with. Same with the plug. After wire test...

Rubber tip on the brake rod

Dana67Dart, it is true what you say. Last year I shipped a Viraga pill to a friend and she got the envelope, but it was torn open, and the pill was missing. That is about the same size of the rubber tip. I didn't think of a machine tearing the envelope, I thought someone thought it being a ring...

My search for a shorty D100 is over

Had those same hubcaps on my 72' Dodge Sportsman B300 van. The only can on the 8 bolt wheels. I took them off around 74' and had special ordered US Indy mags for it in a 15" 8 bolt, 10 inch wide rims with TA's. That's another story on how I made them fit.

My guess would be, Ford in the day was consider "THE" work truck, with its twin tuff "I" beam suspension. Tuff truck, Big motor = sales, just like the Cummins of today in the HD Dodge (RAM) trucks.

My search for a shorty D100 is over

You have the Fleet side, as this one and a step side, with a step protruding out of the front of the bed, to step up into the bed (as in the Little Red Express). I prefer the step side myself.

My search for a shorty D100 is over

I see you are missing the right-hand sport mirror. The mounting brackets are different from a vans sport mirrors, though they look the same until you try to mount then. How do I know, I have a van. The mirror itself are the same. Nice truck. The grill is not tin. but aluminum. Not sure on the...

Stock Coil Mounting 1969 340 Dart

That bracket does not look correct. I have a 69 340 4-speed as the one in the picture. The dash pot gives it away. It's close, but one end has a bent to it, but the location is correct. Mine also is not painted. More like the one in the photo. Do not install it on the firewall, because the...

best way to repair twin scoops

Demonx2, funny you should say that. Just last week I had a vapor lock on my 69 340 Swinger after filling up. Never happened before, so I did a little research. Winterized fuel could cause a vapor lock, if used in a warm Climent, as in South Florida, where I am. I went back to the gas station and...

    Formula S (HD) Leaf Springs

Bennoel 10, you are incorrect. I had a 69 Dart Custom with AC. Wheels were 4.5, I believe, and the Torsion were also lighter. The wheels I pitched years ago, but kept the bars in case I were to put together a SB drag car.

    Need a Battery charger

Why not just keep a "HOT" battery on the work bench? I have a converter 115 AC to 12 volt DC, as a cigarette lighter plug in. Can be used as you need. Do not remember where I got it, but I had two and sold one years ago.

    Oil pump intermediate shaft breaking

I had one break on the hex, but at the pump. I think the pump had a bind in it and froze up. Replace pump and stock drive and never had a problem after that. Sometimes, there is no one answer to an issue.

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

Almost every bolt on today cars has a torque spec. Some even have a "one time" use, as in head bolts and lug nuts. I just did a spindle change on a VW and all the attaching bolts have a torque spec.

    A-body 8-3/4 drums

All were not made with the wing. My 69 and 70 Darts both are 10" and no wing. Actually, I only seen a few with them. Might be a northern thing as some said here. I'm in South Florida.

DANGEROUS PRODUCT = Moog Ball Joints

Yes, the boxes were made in the good ole' USA but was the part. Fine print sometimes says "package in USA". My 2005 2500 RAM has over 220,000 miles on it with the original front end parts, except front sway bar bushings. They were MOOG, I better check them out.

    Georgia, On My Mind.

go-fish, I know the feeling. On my move out of South Florida, four years I had to lose some weight. I threw out a set of 65' 273 4-bbl heads, but did keep the 4-bbl manifold.

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

My Dodge B300 Dana 60 safety (floating) axle has those cone inserts on the axle to hub connection. I believe they were used 78' and down. An after thought: The reason I always use anti-Siege on my water pumps, wheel lug studs, mag wheel backing to rotors and drums and other problem areas that...

    318 Build? Help!

I agree, if you can find one. I dropped a 69' and then a 70' stock 340 in my 72' B300 Maxi van, years ago and what a big difference there was from the stock 318. Could not feel the pop-up camper I pulled with it. Even raced a 350 Chevy truck while pulling the camper and beat him. We started at...
