    Gen 2 hemi swap

Good info here. Question, is anything gained by lopping off the small block K-frame motor mount bases when installing a Hemi using a motor plate?

    Acceptable carbs for the street

Thank you John. I hear what you're saying about over carbureting an engine. If this were strictly a drag car, I might be open to slightly larger cfm carbs but realistically I'm down to 3 (possibly just 2) choices. It would be interesting to know if there is a difference between original Max...

Is there a way to evacuate air from a slant six cooling system?

    Acceptable carbs for the street

Most folks who run 'dual' four barrels forget the squirters need to halved. An engine will take the air flow it needs but getting it right 'off closed throttle' is tricky. Setting up the pump jets is where the magic is, once you get into the mid range life gets easier. They used to say don't...

Is there a way to evacuate air from a slant six cooling system?

They make Air Vac's (cooling system refiller) Lisle also makes a funnel that seals to the top of the radiator so the air can burp out without making a mess.

Driveshaft orientation, '72 Duster 4 speed

Hey all, The driveshaft I saved for my '72 Duster has a 'step' in it like you would see where a pipe is slipped into a larger pipe. Which way does that step go, toward the transmission or the axle? I'm about to put the new U joints in it and I'd like to get it right the first time. And a google...

Is there a way to evacuate air from a slant six cooling system?

When I refill some engines I fill through the heater hose holding it up higher than the rest of the system. Rad cap off and when fluid starts to come out of the heater barb I put the heater hose back on and finish filling into the rad. Then a few heat cool cycles.

Is there a way to evacuate air from a slant six cooling system?

With the coolant recovery bottle, I think the process that you described occurs automatically. Presumably, the engine heats up and expels trapped air through the rubber hose attached to the top of the radiator. When the engine cools overnight, the process reverses itself and any void created by...
