    Slant 6 727 Transmission

Can you post a picture of the trans. As far as I know the slant six 727 wasn't available until about 1968 (might be off one year). That trans did not have cable shift, or B&T flange. As you are aware, prior to the SS 727, Chrysler used the small block 727 with the adapter. PS: Thinking about it...

Check out these nuts. (Problem solved)

Every single one of us gets answers wrong sometimes. Me, you…everyone. Look here; I got an answer wrong just the other day. Y'really gonna go take your marbles and flounce off just because someone else got it right this time? What are you, nine? Come off it, dude. I never claimed to be god of...

Valve Guides for Oversized Valves and Lead-Free Gas?

don't think you need to worry about hardened seats in an iron head if your valves are modern stainless valves. i'm saying this based on discussions i had when i had my head done. and of course the guy who did my head may be wrong the gist of it was modern stainless valves have valve heads...

1962 Valiant Suspension/Brake Swap Options with other A-bodies

My recollection is that 60-61 front suspensions are different, but 62 Valiants/Lancers had front suspensions that are interchangeable with 63 through 72. I believe rears are interchangeable 60-76. Not sure about the front spring eyes on the 60-62. (I do know the rear gears are unique to the...

    Single or double?

Ha! My life has gotten a bit too safe. I like doing the timing and wondering when one of those blades is going to impale me. So is the issue that the pre 70 V8's had the intake hose on the other side of the engine? Can I just take my /6 radiator to shop and have a core added or beefed up in...

    Building a slant for torque

I don't think any cam maker refers to anything they have as "RV cams" anymore. There Are a few out there that would fit that bill ... I had my original cam reground into what is considered a pretty good "RV cam". I keep thinking about adding a small turbo to it once it's all broken in, N/A...

    68 fender on a 67??

found this car like 10 miles from me. is this a 68 fender on a 67 slant dart? or did the 67 slant cars come with the round marker light? also....I'm assuming a 70 front V8 K member will bolt up and the 8 3/4 rearend from same year will bolt in as well? I also have several 69 parts like...

    V8 on 73 up k member?

As long as its a V8 K frame and not a slant six, its simple. (For a 340)You just get a set of 340 or 73+ 360 mounts or you can use 318 mounts but you will have to shim one side with washers. If you have a slant K its going to take some modifications since one mount on a slant sits higher.

A while back I was asking for advice....

A while back I was asking for advice on fitting a small block V8 into my 1966 AP6 Australian Valiant, but after looking into all the hassles with needing to get the car certified (New Zealand), I can't be bothered with it. Bit if I repower with a slant 6, everything would be hassle free. I...

72 Duster build - Pro touring slant six

There's something nice about having a simple cruiser. It definitely could use a little more power but its fun to putt around in. I do have a 440 that I'm building that will eventually go in it. But I'm still collecting parts so that will be way further down the line. It is surprising how many...

    Dan the Man cars ?

he's effectively hamstrung himself with the extremely limited criteria he feels acceptable. clean and rust free 70~72 dart, 70~74 duster, 70~73 scamp must have V8, AT, PS & AC (might as well put PB in there too) budget is 22K which should be doable. but he refuses to expand his search beyond...

    Slant vs v8 z bar

My 72 Duster was a slant six with three speed. I converted it to a 360 and 4 speed. The V8 is wider so I cut something like 3/4” off the hollow tube of the torque shaft to fit.

    More Mopar Pickin Today

The k-frame is the same between slant 6 and V8 cars 64-66....but the center link is different on V8 cars and drops down. Some have claimed to have a drop center link on slant 6 cars too or vise versa, but the V8 has a drop center link unique to the 64-66 cars. The engine mounts from a V8 will...

How do you straighten a k-frame off the car? Is it worth it?

Thanks. It would need to be a '73 or later V8 k-frame to be useful to me. I do have a k-frame I modified years ago that I could use for sections if need be. Won't work in this project but might be worth the metal.

    starter fitment question

A slant and LA/Magnum/BB starter are interchangeable. Longer ones were the high torque. The late model MagnumV6/V8 starters were the ones to stick in early mopars, smaller and more power. I didn't realize they were the same as a 5.7 but an A engine trans will bolt up to a 5.7 and the starter...
