Dan the Man cars ?

-
There'll be something wrong with um all. He doesn't really want a car. He's just dickin everybody around. I was done with that guy a long time ago.
Oddly Im still rootin for him. I think its like when a guy like him gets beat up a little, there is a better chance that he will get a car. Anything positive and he will put it down. Definately a mustang troll:rofl: and what really gets me is his posts get more traction than mine! Its a cruel world. Im not in it for a popularity contest but it goes to show, drama is attractive......especially in winter.

I offered him a car of mine for 25k and he said he didn't have that much money and would check with his bank.... crickets....

I am too! I sincerely hope he becomes a Mopar owner. I have my doubts, but I hope he does.

No harm done. He may be just chatting because he is bored. Wouldn't be surprised especially if he is disabled and not able to do much.

I have a screenshot from him and one other member of what he said to me. I don’t hate anyone but I wouldn’t walk across the street to help either of these guys.

I hope Dan finds the car he wants and can afford.
I often dont get what he writes but I fail to see the need to humiliate anyone by starting a thread about them either
Ignore him if he bothers you that much would be the thing to do

I think he said about 25k ..... here ya go Dan, start negotiating and buy this beautiful piece
1972 Plymouth Satellite
Now that is a real sweet car for the $$. Similar one around here, but 318 with a/c, asking $25k cad. Plum crazy with a black gut IIRC.
Would love to own one of them, one of my all time favorite bodystyles. Especially the green and black one.

If you're referring to me starting this I posted 2 viable cars. Unfortunately I did not realize the need for AC.

I traveled 800 miles round-trip to look at a S10 4x4 pickup I thought was a deal. Don't remember the price of gas in '11 but in my K5 it cost. 50 miles from home I had to make a move at bottom of The Grapvine and there was the CHP with the dreaded radar gun. Took him about a mile and a half to catch up even after I had backed off. Over $ 450 for 82 in a 65 zone.

Hard for me to take The Man seriously. He should post exactly what optiions he would check on the dealer order and MAYBE a member can find it IF it's not too far away OR too much money.

Maybe this thread will provide a car for him, many are posting listings. :)

Nice that you took the time to tell him about those cars
We might agree that for what he wants and what he wants to spend a car not having AC is just a excuse
We also might agree that a classic or vintage AC unit is reasonably priced and not hard to install
I find Dan to be contradictory and yes maybe he is pulling some members chain
Who knows anybody real story on a internet car forum
Anybody can create anything they want to be but I still don’t see the need to humiliate the guy
I wrote him a heartfelt reply on a thread about just not jerking anyone off about wanting to buy a classic car on that particular car forum
Told him how I recently considered a C2 Corvette
How I even joined a Corvette forum for advise
Told him be up front, now I’m sure it went in one ear and out the other but I tried to help like you did
Bottom line is I hope he gets to make the car he’d like a reality

That is a horse of a different color. No sense popping off to someone that is trying to help, but it happens all the time.

I'm sure it's coming.
Meanwhile, I bought the Dart in '17 and subsequently attended a car show 6 miles from home. Was going to meet ol' lady and Mother in law* at the annual Catholic rummage sale and leaned it over ( the Dart ) a bit too much and . . .
of course it's making racket. Went to the sale, browsed, found the ladies and informed them of my plight. Limped home the mile or so and parked.

Some few months later fired up and with a 2nd set of ears that worked we're hoping lifter drivers side. With work, life, other vehicles to deal with the Dart was the least of my worries. Many a visitor, delivery man inquired about status etc. . .

Meanwhile, gathered a few small parts and no short term goal or budget when wham ! Hear an ad on Tradio for an Estate Sale over the next weekend. I had to miss the 1st day due to a meeting but called before and looked briefly at a D 100.

I called on the trip back and there were lowball offers on the truck and was still available. I made arrangements to meet Sunday morning and bought a few dollars worth of goods and took a long hard look at it. Talked to the kids about it and their Dad's dealer.

Offered a $ 100 less than asking so I felt I got a deal. They put it on trailer with 3 flats when the check cleared and towed it to a local shop.

Meanwhile, we'll get to the Dart later. Next up The Buick.

I live in Pittsburgh
THE RUST BELT
I bet I can go on Craigslist right now and find a nice car for $25K within 200 miles

he's effectively hamstrung himself with the extremely limited criteria he feels acceptable.
clean and rust free 70~72 dart, 70~74 duster, 70~73 scamp
must have V8, AT, PS & AC (might as well put PB in there too)
budget is 22K

which should be doable. but he refuses to expand his search beyond 250mi of the evident mopar desert he lives in.

from previous ramblings:
>the interior must be perfect, he flat out turned one down because of a flaw in the headliner
>color seems to be somewhat important
>no "race cars"
>zero bodywork (too expensive)

everything is going to require work at some level, unless it's like a 60K car and even then it'll probably need something dumb. the search radius is ridiculous; 500mi minimum is where you should start if you're serious. the inability to have imagination or vision is crippling in a very true can't see the forest for the trees outlook.

find a car that's 12K and needs 10K in paint and body, scoop an excellent "race" car and take off all the race stuff to sell or trade, go for a cheap and clean slant car and drop in a V8.

all of that is off the table.

so basically, if you impose limitations you get what you get and you don't get upset.
you pay thru the nose, or you buy cheap and build it.

Some people waste time falling over themselves trying to help people that dont deserve it lmao. Cant help people that refuse to help themselves. The amount of utter whining and excuses is ridiculous. Fn lazy.
And I can guaranfntee you that IF he were to ever be donated a car, he would pi$$ and moan FOREVER.
Definition of a poser.
We drove from Toronto Ontario to Aurora Colorado and bought our 67. Before that it was Appleton WI for the 58 Apache.
I love the ignore button, gives me the option as to whether or not I want to read anyone's foolishness.
