Need help with edelbrock 1406 carb

And RRR, you need a refresher course in physics. Pressure & volume are two different entities. In terms of supplying fuel to a carb, there is no 'fighting' between the two. They work together. There would be no volume of fuel delivered to the carb without pressure.

    Upset with Degree wheel findings

Probably not much help now but I installed an Oregon cam a year or so ago with the same Cloyes chain set....no issues (at least the motor runs lol). I hadn't built a V8 in a number of years so I referred to this video which I thought was straightforward.

    Best Aftermarket Suspension Set-up

Those don’t look any more tucked in than the Doug’s D453’s on my Duster. You can see 2/3 of the header flange below the frame rail. What’s the distance from the top of the header flange to the floorboard? Car looks like it sits high enough that header clearance isn’t much of an issue anyway.

DUMB MECHANICAL OIL PRESSURE GAUGE QUESTION

I have often thought that, but I have installed several, and they all worked fine without priming.

    Idle shake

Shep, You said the idle rpm increased when you increased initial timing to 30*. Does not surprise me at all. With other symptoms, all indicative of a bigger cam. So is the increased idle speed to keep the engine running, part of the 'cost' of a bigger cam.

    Idle shake

Post #24. Nope, you do NOT want misting or fuel exiting the boosters at idle. This would mean the main system is operating at idle, when only the idle system should be operating & supplying idle fuel to the engine. A very common cause for this is a 'big [ger]' cam that needs more air & fuel to...

DUMB MECHANICAL OIL PRESSURE GAUGE QUESTION

Hi Folks Does the 1/8 feed line to an aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge need to be primed before connecting it to the gauge or does it get connected dry? In all honesty, I don't ever remember priming one. Thanks FABO

    New EQ Head port misalignment?

I borrowed a factory magnum head from a friend and found that the floor of the port was 0.450" from the deck and the ceiling was 2.600" So these "magnum" eq head ports are every bit of 1/8" off or more.

It appears what you did was the correct procedure, but you simply made a mistake somewhere. Happens all the time. No need for a senior citizen home. It's just a hunk of metal. You'll get it figured out.

Figured y'all would get a kick out of this. We picked up this body the other day and hopefully will start piling parts together over next couple years to get it built to go bracket racing with. Fully fiberglass, stretched and narrowed a little bit. Should be pretty fun!

I did it exactly as what Comp Cams listed in there instructions online except for the following, I set my indicator on a lifter face, I did it on both sides of the lifter instead of the spring retainer as Comp said to use in step 5....... Step 2: Position the #1 piston at Top Dead Center (TDC)...

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

I’m running a tensioner on a double roller timing chain. Been in there for several years, but I haven’t had the motor apart to look at it either. I did have a problem with the timing chain skipping off the fuel pump arm since the roller cam floats a little. I pulled the fuel pump and hammered...
