I think I understand what you're saying after looking at some pictures. It looks like the Reid bellhousing is a much better solution. The transmission company building the tranny can do that work pretty easily while they're doing everythiung else.

2004R's can be built to handle a lot of power reliably, and could easily handle a moderately built big block. Using a bolt on bellhousing from either Reid or Quick Time to bolt on either a 2004R or 4L60 is only a phone call or a few clicks away.

Curious, how is it not an OD? Final gear is .67 and that is the very definition of an OD.
