I've got a 3500 Hughs convertor in my 68 505 fastback , no problems for 12ish yrs. , maybe a hair loose for a street car ...

I have never owned or worked on a small block Mopar , have SBC , but from all this I think I`d run a straight 7 qt pan and TTI headers ...jmo 7 qts are enough for an all out blast at the dradgstrip , I run 7 1/2 qts in a 9 qt pan and TTI headers in my 440/505...

of course these are steel rods , alum. is a diff story...

not as fast as rolling the engine over all at once , with clay in the reliefs , takes too long checking it degree by degre for me ...

you need to clay check it , that way you`ll get the closest reading at the tightest of stage of rotation , fail proof !!

Back in the day , Chrysler and most everybody else said , minimum of .080 on intakes , and minimum or .100 on exhaust . This was for performance engines (dragstrip) , but "DONT FLOAT THE VALVES very hard , if at all !!! I think you`ll have more than that to start with...jmo

that's nothing , I had a 2002 dodge 4 door p/up , that had the oil filter container up top , it always had way/way more than that from day 1 , traded it at 168,000 just because I was tired of it ...

I ain't sure I understand this , but you ain't gonna get nothing right unless the thrust bearing is right , surely its no 3 on that block too... you don't have the no 3 main in backwards do you ??
