Hammerfab Suspension

Looks like it's based off a Mustang II suspension.

Wow! You can adjust the ride height AND a 440 fits without cutting the floor?

Gosh, that's exactly like the stock suspension and a 440. And I can build my own mounts if I want something other than a 440? That's totally an improvement over other systems that will sell you engine brackets that already fit!

Oh! And the alignment process is easy now with shims! Adding shims is so much easier than turning an eccentric bolt!

Morons. Yeah, it's just another MII conversion with no published geometry data. Guaranteed to drain your wallet and have no better geometry than a torsion bar system with upgraded parts. And you get to make your own engine mounts, and god only knows what headers will fit.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Ya...

NOPE!!

HDS or RMS over this any day!

i'll give him this: the barracuda he did looks really nice. stance is right, rims is right. super clean build. the big block in the bay looks *right* and the attention to detail is spot on.

also, that he went with a splined bar. i dig that.

but everything else? *shrugs*

They appear to be a decent rod shop that has some custom build history behind them. They had a customer that wanted a Mopar built and they have decided to sell the suspension system they created for them. Appearance and stance seem to be priorities for this system which is based off M2 components, like most rod systems are. I doubt I would ever try it, but it is another option for those inclined to believe the original set-up is crap that needs to be dumped for something modern

Yeah to be fair to them it looks like a really clean, well made set up with some nice additions compared to some of the other coil over conversions out there. Using the MII control arms opens up some other possibilities, even if it also introduces the shim set up. But it’s not just a copy of anything currently on the market, so there are legitimate reasons to run that set up vs the other kits on the market. Now, whether it’s worth the risk of running a new system that has little to no track record is a different story.

The advertising/marketing lingo is just what kills me. Selling the shim alignment arrangement as an improvement is a massive stretch. And ignoring that one of the biggest advantages to a torsion bar system is the ride height adjustability is just silly. Like coil over systems are never as easy to change the ride height with. Which just tells me they don’t understand the torsion bar system very well.

they must be dreaming , $9000 , u gotta be kidding ...

You do see that the linked kit is not just the front suspension right? That $9k is the complete front suspension, frame connectors, and a 4 link rear suspension plus a couple other goodies. The front suspension by itself appears to be more like $5k depending on options.

Yeah, they must have a bunch of dumb Hollywood actors telling them that's what they'd pay lol

Or maybe they know that the Trac4 Baer brakes by themselves are $2k. An RMS front suspension with NO brakes and no engine mounts is over $5k. Sooooo, add $2k for just the brakes...

That website is horrible. It's not even clear what you get with each option. Not a good way to sell an expensive aftermarket suspension system.

Yeah I agree.

After looking at it a few times I'm definitely less certain about what's included. It appears the $9k version is just the front suspension and maybe the frame connectors. But even then they're not out of the ballpark for a front coil over conversion if they include those brakes. Just the RMS front suspension with those 13" trac4 Baer brakes would be close to $8k.

Cool, you like it.

if you look at comparable systems on the market, they're about in the same ballpark for the components that are included.

for instance, splined torsion bar swaybars are generally about 8~1K more, brakes 2K, double adjustable coil overs another 1500 or so, power rack tack on another 350

then add on some subframe connectors at another tree-fiddy plus and everything starts to even out.

so even if you have a "custom" IFS front from say scotts or AM for say, $3500 there's another 4~5 G's worth of the good stuff you'd need to get at the same level.

I mean honestly I'd never buy it.

But slamming it because of its price without understanding what the components alone cost is just silly, and clearly you don't know how expensive a couple of the included parts are by themselves. Those trac4 Baer brakes are 22% of the price by themselves. Considering the cost of some of the components that are part of the system the price is not out of line. If the website was a little easier to navigate I'd feel more confident in a comparison, but like-to-like for parts on the kits that are currently on the market and it looks to me like the price is competitive. Certainly in the ball park.

One thing that definitely should be covered by them is some kind of suspension geometry plot, because they moved the suspension pick up points which has the potential to completely alter everything about the suspension geometry. Now, that could actually be a GOOD thing, the other coil over conversions out there are using Mopar suspension points with MII spindles and things so there are drawbacks that you might be able to improve on by moving the suspension points. But to know whether they made it better or worse you'd need to see the plots.

I realize the stuff on it is costly. Its for people who want to go around corners & I don't need to do that
