Where Are All The Pre 2010 Members

Still here :) Thanks for all the help through this forum through the years! I bought my Duster 2005, still have it. Started with the /6, then 273 and now 360. I'm doing this in Sweden. Have a great 2024!

    Opinions on 360 vs 440

My friend has a 69 Dart with a 440. I helped him make the swap. He got rid of the power steering and power brakes, If I remember correctly he got the headers from Schumacher, this was over 10 years ago. Those headers where easier to install than my Hooker headers in my 360 Duster, I have power...

The vin on the radiator core support only has 6 numbers, is this normal?

On my 70 Duster the vin is on the radiator core support, driver side. I also climbed into the trunk and see that something is also stamped with 6 numbers from the upside of the package tray near the drivers side speaker. To pass inspection here in Sweden they need to see the vin stamped. I was...

    1970 Duster project in Sweden

Here is a little update. When I have had the time I have been working on crossing of things on my "to do list". I have been taking it for longer and longer test drives too. Recently I have been working on the cooling system because the temp crept up when idling. When driving the temp would stay...

Thanks, I did not know that. @Ccas Any info on transmission line spacing and hood clearance for the above mentioned situation?

Cold Case or Griffin radiator in a 1970 Duster?

1970 Plymouth Duster with a 360 and automatic transmission. I'm looking at the Cold Case MOP755A or the Griffin Exact Fit Radiators 5-70154. I have hard lines for the transmission cooling lines. Would be nice to have to tweak as little as possible. There is quite a difference in price of the two...

    1970 Duster project in Sweden

So work got in the way of working on the Duster again. But, I was able to do some work this weekend. I thought I made an awesome score of a used 22" shroud here in Sweden. Well, not so much. The shroud started to sag, I did some reading here on FABO and read that people had a lot of problems...

    Fan dimensions

So a 18" fan should work with a stock shroud for a 22" radiator in a abody?

Wow! That shroud looks great, thank you for taking the time to share and explain. I was thinking of doing it in thin metal, but this looks like something I might be able to wrap my head around too now that I have this to go by. Awesome!

    1970 Duster project in Sweden

So I have spent time fixing things and crossing things off the to do list. Been driving it a few times too. It feels great. Now I need to look at the cooling system. I have no shroud, I need one and possible a new radiator. We shall see. When I cruise I'm around 176*, but it creeps up when I...

    1970 Duster project in Sweden

Today I drained the oil out of the transmission, took the pan down and installed a steel core silicone rubber gasket from Moroso. Lets hope it will do the trick.

    1970 Duster project in Sweden

Thanks. I will probably get one of those gaskets and use some rtv when installing it. I dont remember what gasket is on there now, but I do remember being thorough when installing the pan. It was nice and straight and everything was clean and nice. The leak is at the front of the pan. I can see...

Thanks Mat. My pan is not one of those deep one's, but I have been thinking I should get one of those, so I might just do that. Is it a no, no to put a thin coat of rtv on the pan gasket?

    1970 Duster project in Sweden

Some photos from todays work. I decided I wanted to try the Edelbrock AVS2 650. Also installed a new water temp gauge and the center caps for my wheels. Done a lot of other stuff too that I can cross off my list :) The thermostat housing no longer leaks. Instead I have an annoying drip at one...

    1970 Duster project in Sweden

Thanks. I did the sandpaper and flat surface today, paper gasket and regular rtv was what I had. I think that one of the bolts bottomed out (stupid mistake on my behalf). But that is now fixed. Will let it cure overnight.

Thanks, I will have a look at that. I installed it with a gasket and some rtv, but it still weeps a little when parked.

Things are coming together at my new place. I have started a list on things that needs attention after the engine build/swap. Spring is finally here and I have done some short test drives. Gonna start tuning the engine real soon. I installed an Autometer wideband A/F recently to help me with...

Just wanted to say thanks for the ideas. The problem is solved. I put a washer between the bracket and the pump. It made a better seal.

My mother actually had a SAAB 2 stroke for a short while. I remember riding in it, quite a special car. My father had a lot of Volvo models. The P1800 was the coolest to me as a kid.
