the 1/2" stuff is kinda huge and expensive where as the 3/8 stuff is only a few bux more than the 5/16. So the 3/8 will be fine on the 318, but would also be big enuff to handle a mild street big block? (the car will be a driver not a racer)

Im replacing the entire fuel system in the 70 dart by necessity..... my question is that I see that I can get a 5/16" or a 3/8" pickup in the tank. I can also order the lines in 5/16" or 3/8". Currently the car will be a mildly warmed 318 with plans of one day running a big block or a 408...

I have a 318 magnum short block from a 99 truck. The block has 4 broken rods and a toasted crank. The cylinders look good, no visible wear (89,000 miles). One of the broken rods did take a chunk out of the very bottom of one of the cylinder walls about the size of a nickel. Its of no use...

wasnt there a company that was making new magnum style heads in the LA configuration? They were magnum heads but used the LA style intake bolt pattern and pushrods....??? Aerohead has 318 heads for 399 a pair. Why are the 340-360 heads 100 more when they have the same valves and chamber...

So after my bent pushrod, bent valve experience- the machine shop says that the old gas had caused the valves to stick.. bad enough that the pushrods folded when the piston hit the valves... Long story short the mahcine shop (napa) says 350-500 to redo the valves, seals, and that if I want to...

To be honest with you.... its got me questioning if its even the original 318 to the car... Where would I look on a 318 to find the #'s that would correspond to the car?

Engine is pulled down in the car to the block. The valves are definately bent. I wacked them with a hammer before I started to see if they were free... Well... some of them went down and never came back up... they are so bent the valve springs dont even have enough power to pull them back up...

I think tonite I'll pull the intake and see if I can cut out the pushrods. I have another low mile 318 ('77) that has a good top end and bad bottom end. I may just grab the pushrods and a couple rockers and see what happens without pulling the heads.

If the timing chain did break... and it did jam it up so bad that it bent the pushrods that bad... on both sides.... are the valves bent? I've never had a timing chain cut loose so I have never seen the damage on a small block mopar. Is this 99% chance of bent valves?

No I didnt hear it run.... its not even the fact that its messed up! Its just the fact that everytime I got to do something it turns out the worst possible way!! Not what I expected from a 1 owner 63000 mile car with the hubcaps still on it thats for sure!!! I can fix it.... but wouldnt...

its the car in my avatar.... and its sitting so high because thats the PO's driveway and he had the car up on jackstands.... that picture is exactly as I found the car! (none of the 4 tires are touching the ground in that pic... thats the stockers drooped all the way out that your looking at!)...

My stockers are completely shot... so adding a leaf isnt really an option... I'd rather replace them with something stiffer... if I can scrounge up a set used for cheap! I PM'd you guys! Thanks
