Hi, building a 340 stroker. Already Have heads, forged rotating assembly etc. Looking for a good rebuildable short engine or block & main caps. Consider complete used good long engine but prefer short eng. Max .20 over. Any leads also appreciated.

So if I haven't chosen the cam yet, then use the 1.5 and the desired lift/duration with the cam, rather than trying to gain with a 1.6 ratio - right???

What factors need to be considered when deciding on installing 1.5 vs. 1.6 ratio rocker arms? I'm starting to but parts for an engine build and can't seem to figure this one out?

I am considering replacing my 340's iron heads with aluminum ones but want to retain the stock look. Can aluminum heads be painted and retain the paint over a long period of time?

I am using a 440 source pulley set so i wouldnt think they would be over/under driven. Although I am not 100% sure.

It was supposedly hot tanked. I bought it off ebay but I have a dyno video and the print outs so i have no reason to think it was a poor build.

I have checked the thermstat and its ok. Block might be the cause but how blocked can a block get?

OK. That makes sense. Is there anyway to tell the yoke spline count without pulling the centre out first? What is the most common?

Also the guy i bought the car off said the rear had cut and resplined truck axles. Are truck axles a different spline? I cant contatc the guy I bought the car off so I cant ask him these questions.
