    Slant 6 mod's

Dude. Just chop your muffler (and cat) off. The car sounds like a race car, and it's the cheapest option. It won't go any faster, but it makes a world of psychological difference.

How do I get power to the turn signal switch?

I have a 1976 Duster, which I picked up for a song a few months back. As it happened, i was able to pick it up for a song because the car's underdash wiring was all melted and screwed up. It was also stolen, but that wasn't an issue. Basically, the wiring in the ignition switch got screwed up...

    magnaflow muffler on slant six?

I held it up to the tailpipe last night, fit right over the existing pipe. Had a buddy sit inside the car and gun it. I think I lost about 5 db at high rpm, but the sound frequency didn't change much if at all. I can go one of two ways here: OPTION ONE: throw the magnaflow on. Use a muffler...

Drive 1000 mile bringing new old car back home

did you follow the two guys from Hot Rod on their adventure last month? They flew from LA to arizona, then purchased a 66 buick that hadn't run in thirty years. They then proceeded to drive it home. They left on a tuesday, and got back sunday night. Along the way, they had a plethora of...

    magnaflow muffler on slant six?

My 76 /6 Duster was straight-piped by the previous owner, who also managed to somehow lose the cat. I love the sound. It sounds like a tractor at low rpm, and like a cross between a pissed-off tractor and a motorcycle at high rpm under load. The exhaust system is sort of redneck, but it works...

440 Test Stand: Do I need a ballast resistor?

When I first bought my Duster, we had to hotwire it to get it home. drove it for 2 hours with the ballast resistor out of the picture. Nothing melted, but maybe I just got lucky.

    car name help

not true, as long as the story behind it (real or made up) is fun to tell.

    car name help

Name it something over-the-top silly and overstated. Nobody remembers that my best friend's Pontiac is named "Grover." But nobody ever calls my Duster "the duster." Like I said, over the top and memorable.

Bought my Feather Duster... from a biker gang

So, I just spoke with the guy whose name was on the title... sent him a friend request on facebook, and 30 seconds later my phone rings... "suppose you're trying to get the title from me" "actually, I have the title. That's how I got your name." "Oh.... well, my signature is forged." he's...

    anybody using these cragers

See, they're initially attracted to it, but then they see the rust and the push bar and they start running away... so I gotta chase after them and hit them with the push bar. Then my navigator drags them off the hood and into the car, where they then escape through the rust holes in the floor...

    anybody using these cragers

My 76 Duster is rollin on old vector style rims, 15x7.5, with aggressive off-road L60-15 tires. Fit okay, but i think the car was lifted by its previous owner. I'd go aeros.

    six vs ricer

I own a saturn. And a slant six duster. And, trust me, the best way to beat a Saturn in a drag race is to accelerate at a fairly rapid rate. The Saturn may be lighter, and it may have (*gasp*) 100 hp, but it has no torque. Trust me. You have nothing to worry about. Good luck!

Hey, I recently purchased a duster that I think spent some time cruising Janesville in 2009, maybe earlier than that. You recognize it? http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=4941

A bodies in Wisconsin, Who's out there?

about 20 miles south of Madison- bought the car even further south. I think it spent quite a while cruising Janesville. I'm basing this based on the various unpaid tickets and receipts inside the car. Anybody recognize it? As far as I can tell, it was stuffed in a barn in September of 2009. I...

    76 Duster resto

After initial misadventures purchasing my 76 Duster (dubbed the "chick grabber"), I've decided to not mess around with it too much. It still needs some electrical work, and some body work, but it's solid overall. We found the build sheet behind the rear seat, so that was cool. I'll keep you guys...

Valiant and Duster wiring diagrams- close enough?

That's exactly what I was thinking, but i wanted to make sure. Don't want more smoke coming out of the steering column... lol!

Valiant and Duster wiring diagrams- close enough?

I recently purchased a 76 Duster which has some wiring issues related to the ignition switch. As far as I can tell, these were mostly created by the previous owner, who had an IQ of roughly twelve. Starting the car with a screwdriver and having to pop the hood to shut the car off is getting old...

Bought my Feather Duster... from a biker gang

Yeah, I'm thinkin I'm gonna keep 'em both. Gives it an interesting vibe. If I ever start taking myself seriously, though, that pushbar is coming off. Thankfully, I probably won't start taking myself seriously anytime soon.

LOL naw, mine looked like rednecks on acid! :axe: And I love bikers, don't get me wrong. Nothing wrong with motorcycles, or the people who drive them... usually. This guy had a rap sheet longer than my arm, though. What a guy! Betcha he's kicking himself for selling it so cheap.

I actually tried to call them nothing but "sir." And I also did my damnedest to outnumber them whenever I went down there.

Bought my Feather Duster... from a biker gang

This guy was a convicted felon and owed more than $55k to the IRS. And he was the "normal" one of the group. Biker gang? I think so. I'm south of mad-town about 20 miles. In the "warm" part of the state.

Bought my Feather Duster... from a biker gang

I wouldn't say solid... needs new metal under the driver's feet, and in the floor of the trunk. Not to mention the obvious body rust in the pictures. I think I got a pretty good deal, though.

Bought my Feather Duster... from a biker gang

Howdy, guys! I'm the proud owner of a 1976 Plymouth Feather Duster, which I purchased on Saturday from a biker gang in a small local community. Not quite sure that they knew what the heck it was... lol! The wiring is all messed up, because apparently the electronics within the ignition switch...
