When I turn the carb idle mix screws in yes it runs really ruff and almost dies. I have them tuned out like 3 or 4 turns. I do see any fuel dripping in.

I dont know. I think it retards it. when I move it the other way it revs up and if I keep going it sounds like **** when it starts to die off and like I said the mark on the balancer goes way off like it is reading 40* or 50*

Also the exhaust really smells, like it running to rich but even when I have the carb running lean it still smells like that and also you see a bluish smoke. It is not oil. I think its running to rich unless timing has something to do with that.

When it is on TDC the balancer mark is at zero and I have the timing set to 17* or 18*. So when its running the balancer mark is just barley visible up by the water pump. I have my balancer marked at 10* and 20* so at 20* timing it would be on the zero mark. Its on the drivers side. The...

Would it make a difference if I took the plug wires off, turned the distributor till the vacuum thing is facing in towards the engine then put the plug wires back on?

Thats what I mean the rpm goes up and my timing goes up too... way up like 30* or 40* and if I back the idle down it still reads the same.

Hey guys, I got my timing right. I have it at about 17* or 18*. Next question which direction is advancing it? I have the vacuum thing almost touching the firewall. And if I advance it the rpm goes up but my timing goes up too.

Do you guys think if there too much tranny fluid would cause that? When I put it away 8 years ago it was full, then this year when I started it I had to add around 3 quarts. There is no tranny leak, its on a concrete floor and did not see any fluid on the concrete. I am not sure if it tried up...

I think the cam is .484 lift something like that. I have the edelbrock air gap intake. I think 10.5:1 or 11:1. I dont have a vacuum gauge. Thanks

There is 3 notches on the balancer. One goes all the way across and the other 2 go have way across. The one I am looking at matches up with TDC. I is a Mopar Performance one.

This may be a stupid question. I dont have timing marks on the balancer, I just have the marks on the timing cover. How would I time that to 15* to 20*. I see my timing cover goes 10 0 10. I have the timing mark below the 10 on the bottom about an 1" or so. It that right? It runs smooth. Thanks

No vacuum leak, I have a Edelbrock 750 on it. I really don't know how to tune that. I think I have the adjustment screws turn out about 3 turns. I tried to mess when them and it starts to idle ruff... not sure. Fuel pressure is good. thanks
