Tell me more about this "electric choke" version. Is there a mod kit available for non-EGR manifolds?

For those of you using the Edelbrock heads on your smallblock...any considerations with regard to head bolt kits, gaskets, rocker arm shafts or any other things that might not be mentioned in literature on these heads? In other words, are they plug 'n play as far as replacing cast iron heads...

I had my K sandblasted and powder coated. Only cost 120 bucks and done in a week. You'll thank me later.

Believe it or not, the heads aren't what's holding me up. From assembling the engine; yes...to some degree. (I could always buy the cam and assemble the short block). But what I really need to do is paint/powder coat the suspension, throw in new rubber bits and get it off jack stands and paint...

It's a good thing there are people like you in the world.

Why? I plumbed my garage with 3/4" PVC nearly 20 years ago and it works fine. Did two drops on each wall plus to overhead drops on either side of my Handy Lift at a cost of only a few bucks. The only pricey part was the QD couplings.

I haven't thought far enough ahead for the external paint yet. I'm hoping to be able to pay somebody to paint the car this time around, but available cash will dictate that down the line. But the engine bay needs to get shot before the motor goes in, so HF will probably have to do.

So, finally...the wheels begin to grind, albeit slowly. My call to machinist netted a positive response as they said my heads are next in line for teardown and quote and I should be getting a phone call either tomorrow or Thursday with an estimate. At that point I can make the decision to do...

Sounds like you are well on your way! What your 3 things add up to is pretty much personal choice. What does your engine builder suggest? Carbs are pretty much a personal thing; I'm a Holley guy myself but to each his own. And a carb swap can be easily done if you're not happy with the results...

No word on my heads yet, called/emailed and left a message. I guess we are getting into the 'busy season'... I'm not in a rush and pretty understanding about putting big dollar customers first, but it's been two months. All I'm waiting on is an analysis and cost estimate.
