Some pictures from autocross last month. These new tires are GRIPPY!

    71 Duster 360 turbo build

I'm shocked they are compressed that much. I run a 450lb on my HDK and they aren't compressed nearly that much. However, mine are 12" springs. It almost looks like they would get into coil bind on a big bump.

Awesome! I sincerely appreciate it. If I've learned anything about podcasting, you have to market the crap out of it. No one will ever find it unless they search specifically for the name. It's unfortunate the podcast players don't have better search functions by topic. I'm sure there's a bunch...

I was worried about the weight at the time as well. I noticed a difference driving it home from the guys shop that put it in!

Butters "Winter Upgrades". . Starting a Little Early

Love the attention to detail Dan. This thing is going to be a monster! I didn't mic anything on my 5.7. I put it back the way I found it. If it was good enough for the chrysler assembly line, its good enough for me....lol

    71 Duster 360 turbo build

You will be amazed at how much this will stiffen the car up. Way back when I was drag racing, I was running mid 11s and had to get a roll bar. The car never pulled the wheels. I get the roll bar and the first time out the car pulled the wheels and had better ETs. I was blown away.

    Header install?

I installed my headers after the engine was in the car. Granted I have an HDK crossmember, so there is less "stuff" in the way. A couple bolts on the passenger side were challenging to reach even with the HDK. They may be impossible with a stock K. @JBrian could provide some good insight on this.

Finally get to pretend I am one of the cool kids - Holley kit swap

Dennys mounts have adjustment in all directions. This is kinda where it landed. I measured the pushrods. They were all perfect. They are just thin wall.

7mm (.2755) on the PS side. The 3rd bolt will have to be walked out with a wrench but not impossible. I may actually be doing it soon because I want to ditch the stock pushrods and put some beefier ones in. As much as I find the limiter, I figured it would be in my best interest to have some...

Butters "Winter Upgrades". . Starting a Little Early

Interesting. I'll admit, I know nothing about all the varieties of bearings. I did just watch a Steve Morris video where he spoke about bearing clearances. He had one a touch big or small (don't remember) so he was ordering the next size up and only planned to use half of it. This would...

Interesting find on the mount bolts. I usually do spot checks on bolts but never thought to check those. I guess I need to now.

    PCM options

It's a shame the CAN bus the MS uses isn't the same as J1939 CAN. Axiomatic makes some neat products for the J1939 platform. I used some in a past career to collect diesel engine data to put onto a display screen.

    PCM options

My MS3X was the kit one and I built it. I'm not sure my eyes would allow that now... lol. I've never looked into the arduino products, but I will now. I'd love to have more engine data such as oil temp, and my second O2, but what I really want is my 3 axis G meter (3 inputs). I found one from an...

    PCM options

I'm running the MS3X on a 5.7 right now. I had it previously running my 408 LA. Since I made the harness and bulkhead connector for the 408, I simply made the harness and pinout to match. A simple config change and it fired right up. I will admit the MS was a big learning curve for me since I...

    Some Gen III Hemi questions.

You can use a microsquirt to control the spark. They are capable of working with the crank wheel you have already. Bonus is you will get some extra inputs for data logging if you want.

    A tale of two Dusters

Woohoo! We need you at Moparty grand champion regardless of its capabilities at that time. Ask @Dantra how much fun it is to drive a car around the cones that isn't setup to do it.

Restomod or Original OEM style?? - Feedback Appreciated!

It depends on the mounting point of the LCA. Not sure where the others besides the HDK fall. They may be able to get away with less based on the LCA mounting point.

Butters "Winter Upgrades". . Starting a Little Early

That ain't going nowhere... Best thing about frame connectors- find the balance point for the jack and you can get both tires off the ground at the same time! BTW, that stroker motor might want some bigger exhaust.

But I bet the mis-alignment in the holes take up a bunch of that slop.

Finally get to pretend I am one of the cool kids - Holley kit swap

I'm not sure how much wiggle room the K actually has since the bolts have shoulders on them. Are the Holley engine mount bolt holes slotted? I wonder if the engine could be rotated a few degrees without the trans on it making this header really close.

    12:05 Garage- ’70 Duster build

Obligatory post autocross update... While the rest of the country is shutting down autocross season, we are entering prime season for it. I didn't pay to have my new tire heat cycled so I knew the first few runs would be throw-aways. The car feels much different with this wheel and tire combo...

I'm using Peter's SPC arms and I think I have 450lb springs. Are you getting the 2" ball joints? They actually make a difference you can feel. Try and get 7+ degrees of caster and 1.5 degrees of camber. I was watching your car at Moparty and it looked like it could use more aggressive alignment...

    12:05 Garage- ’70 Duster build

Yes, and then some. I started a while back by cutting the tube that extended out the K flush and still ran a spacer. I mostly did this to bring the wheel center while running almost 7 degrees of caster. I just took the spacer out and put a thin machine washer next to the bushing.

Tires arrived and I had them mounted up. This is my old 235/40 compared to the new 265/35 for the front. I'll get some more photos outside once I get my alignment done. I moved the LCA forward more to get the tire away from the rear side of the fender. The front wheels are 1/8" further out...
