    The 340 club

Hi All, Yeah, if the header question is mine, the Doug's fit good but only after changing to a Denso mini-starter and modifying the clutch z-bar. Had to cut the inboard arm off and re-weld about 1/4 inch closer to bell housing to clear the innermost header tube. Also had to cut the tabs off...

    Cam Choice

I'm running an air gap on my 340 topped by an Edelbrock (Webber) 750 with a black wrinkle Mopar Performance air cleaner. Was nervous about clearance but the hood closes fine, no problems.

Got my Dart !!!!! Take a look!!!

HOLY COW!! I must be gettin' old. I already replied to this thread.... Sorry! 10k is a bargain. I'm nearly 3 times that into my 69. Once you get started, well...we all know what happens. Only did it because it was an original car with the drive train still intact. Thank God the big...

    Booster pressure question

Sounds like a viable alternative. SSBC wants 395.00 plus tax for their booster kit. What it amounts to is an electric air pump that has to be mounted and wired. The intake gets capped and the pump does all the work. Not quite ready to spend that kind of money. Thanks for the suggestion. Jim.

    Booster pressure question

Hi George, Check valve looks good, had it checked at the shop that did my front end this week. The car brakes normally going down the road but brakes hard when sitting at idle, strange, as I would expect it to be opposite to that according to my understanding of how vacuum pressure is...

    Booster pressure question

Hi Gang, I converted the fronts from drum to disc using SSBC conversion kit for 69 Dart, including a power booster. I put an oversized comp cam in the 340 and am not making enough vacuum pressure at idle to effectively power the booster. The booster works fine as rpm increases. I've heard...

Got my Dart !!!!! Take a look!!!

Wow, terrific find! Welcome to the Dart World. 10 is a steal for that car. I have more than twice that into my (first and only so far) 69 Swinger rebuild. Good luck with your 67, you're off to a great start.

    1969 DART Trunk Emblem

Hi George, Yep, we are getting closer to that cruise down to Trumbull. Re: exhaust, I'm not sure as all my searching went into header friendly parts. Mopar muscle is loaded with stuff like that (mostly near the back). I'm certain somebody sells what you're looking for, maybe even local...

    1969 DART Trunk Emblem

Thanks but the one your describing sounds like the hood emblem. The trunk is a bit larger and has only two pegs on the back. Thanks for the reply. Jim.

Rookie in need of advice (Restoration work)

Patience, pictures, and more patience. Manuals are great but there's nothing like good pics to help re-assembly. One other thing I've learned is that cataloging and storing parts in ONE place is critical. Take time each day to bag and label small parts and always try to keep your parts in one...

    1969 DART Trunk Emblem

Hiya MtNemo, I've been searching for a repop on this emblem and have had no luck. Don't think anyone has gotten around to it yet. But hey! Mopar Muscle just came out with an issue declaring the rise of A-Bodies (like we already knew) so I'm hoping we get some more repop parts opportunities...

    1969 DART Trunk Emblem

Thanks George, Fired the beast on Memorial Day! Finally figured out my header problems. Got a junkyard z-bar and modified the inboard arm moving it about 1/2 inch inward. That paired with a Denso mini from Mancini provided enough clearance and the whole thing went back together smoothly...

    Parts Store Inexperience

Good Points! Thanks for the insight. I think the method used for cataloging parts in these computer systems is fundamentally flawed. The systems key on particular cars rather than dropping down to a more basic level. What I mean is, instead of basing their data organization on a car they...

    69 Dart 340 Swinger

Thanks for the insight GTS. I'll need to choose my words more carefully. You are correct. Turquoise is the word used on engine paint charts to describe 69 340 engine color. I've also seen it interchanged with the words 'Mopar Blue' in magazine articles and at speed shops. My engine color is...

    Is This Right?

Looks like the car has either been hit before you bought it, or was damaged during straightening judging from the tranny hump and the separation. When you had the body straightened I'm assuming it was done by a pro body shop? It may be that the separation happened as the body was being pulled...

    Parts Store Inexperience

I am lovin' this thread. Here's mine. Went into the local NAPA looking for a bypass hose for my 69 340 Dart. The kid asked me what kind of car so I told him. He then brought out 5 different hoses none of which would fit. I then told him to look up a 1987 Dodge D series pickup with a V8. 2...

    New to the Dart community

Nice Car! Welcome to the dart club but beware. These pesky darts get under your skin and you end up with 2 or 3 of 'em. What's your plan for the car? How is it currently set up? Six or eight cylinder, what tranny? Good luck with the project and keep us posted.

    dougs headers

Thanks Crackedback! One last thing, not meaning to hijack the thread but have you had starter issues using Doug's on you 340's? Can you provide starter manufacturers and part numbers that will work with Doug's for 340 4 spd application? Thanks for all the help!
